Charles B. Neece, 71, Newnan, died Aug. 22, 2000. He was born Sept. 13, 1928 in Windsor, Mo. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, had served in Korea and was retired from civil service in Alaska. Services were at the Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Epps officiating. Interment was at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif. Survivors include children Michelle Serra, Rhode island, William Neece, Montana, David Neece, Newnan, and Nad Tresa Nash, Alaska; a brother, Harold Neece, Mo.; and nine grandchildren. Render Shelnutt, 75, Newnan, died Aug. 22, 2000. He was born July 4, 1925 in Heard County, Ga., the son of Rufus and Julia Prince Shelnutt. He was retired from Southern Mills. Services were at the Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. David Arrington officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include his wife, “Pete” Shelnutt, Newnan; children Willie Shelnutt, Helen Willingham, Michael Shelnutt, Roger Shelnutt and Ronnie Shelnutt, all of Newnan; brothers James Dean, Hogansville, J. W. Shelnutt, LaGrange; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Martin and Hightower Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, was in charge.
Stanley Lewis Steele
Stanley Lewis Steele, 40, Newnan, died Aug. 24, 2000. He was born Feb. 17, 1960 in Newnan. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis A. Steele. He attended Western Elementary School and graduated from Newnan High School in 1978. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology and received a degree from Southern Polytechnic Institute. He operated Stan Steele Surveying Inc. and was associated with SAMSOG, a professional society for surveying engineers. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. C. A. Jernigan and Craig Jackson officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Stan Steele Scholarship Fund, c/o Newnan Coweta Bank, 145 Millard Farmer Industrial Blvd., Newnan 30263. Survivors include his wife, Paul Steele, Newnan; mother, Buvenia Steele, Newnan; sons Stanley Lewis Steele Jr. and William Sawyer Steele, both of Newnan; a brother, J.
