The Peachtree City Beautification Committee is inviting the public and anyone interested in becoming a member to tour a couple of local sites tomorrow morning as the committee considers its future plans.
The Georgia Native Plant Garden in front of the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater is the first stop, at 9 a.m. The Waterwood Bend site next to the former NationsBank on Ga. Highway 54 will be seen after that.
Also, the committee invites the public to its next regular monthly meeting, set for Monday, Nov. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the library.
Comprised of volunteers working with the city, the Beautification Committee raises funds and sponsors beautification projects on public lands in the community.
Projects include an annual tree planting in January, which adds 1,000 seedlings to Peachtree City's greenbelts and rights of way each year, and maintenance of the flowers at the city's civic sign at the intersection of Ga. highways 54 and 74.
For information on the committee, call secretary/treasurer Betsy Tyler at 770-487-7657.
