Yuri-Grace Ohashi, a sophomore at Starr’s Mill High School, was crowned Miss Starr’s Mill 2015 on Jan. 10 after a scholarship pageant that featured 29 young women.

The pageant is an annual fundraiser for the school’s drama department and has grown to be the largest high school scholarship pageant of its kind in the nation, according to school officials.

Other 2015 finalists chosen from the 29 contestants who participated included: Hollyn Shadinger, a junior, first runner-up; Mariah Blanks, a senior, second runner-up; Kelly O’Shaughnessy, a senior, third-runner up; and Alexa Echevarria, a junior, fourth runner-up.

Rounding out the top 10 were: Cara Clements, Ginni Gray, Michaela Hillman, Sarah Kuehn, and Erica Lantz.

Ohashi and Shadinger will go on to represent Starr’s Mill and Peachtree City in the Miss Georgia Outstanding Teen pageant this summer in Columbus.

More than $7,250 was awarded in scholarships at the pageant.
