The Peachtree City Council on Jan. 15 approved a $1.146 million lease-purchase agreement for a variety of office, police, fire and public works needs. The unanimous vote was part of the council’s consent agenda. The council approved the lease-purchase agreement for citywide network infrastructure and telephone system replacement, a police department records management system, four police vehicle replacements, an EMS patient handling system, a fire rescue boat, fire department medical unit and three Lucas CPR machines, a truck for the public works department, utility vehicles and equipment to be used by public works. The total price of the package is $1.146 million. The agreement is with JP Morgan Chase and includes a 1.5 percent interest rate. The vehicles and equipment will be financed over five years with quarterly payments beginning in March. Funds for the FY 2015 debt service payments have been previously budgeted.
