Mrs. Lexter Smith Clark Folds, 94, passed away January 29, 2013. Mrs. Folds was born in Lithonia, GA, but lived in Atlanta the greater part of her life with her late husband, George R. Folds, the love of her life. She moved to Conyers, GA in 2006.

Mrs. Folds worked for Drugs Mutual as a pharmaceutical clerk until 1985, when she retired to care for her husband, who was battling pancreatic cancer. She enjoyed acrylic painting, crocheting, making ceramics and beading jewelry. Prior to her recent illness, she was teaching jewelry making to assisted living residents. She also enjoyed interior decorating, which was her life’s dream to pursue as a career.

Mrs. Folds was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Harvey L. Smith, her first husband Morris Clark, second husband George R. Folds, brothers Rexford Smith, Clifton Smith and Carlton Smith.

Mrs. Folds is survived by her daughter, Martha Ann Elrod & husband Jack of Peachtree City; son Ray Folds of Birmingham, AL; sister Margurie McGee of Conyers; brother Jerry Smith, Sr. of Conyers; granddaughter Gina Wegner & husband Torsten of Charlottesville, VA; grandson Todd Elrod & wife Jennifer of Lexington, SC; four great-grandchildren, Anya & Colin Wegner, Hannah & David Elrod; niece Bonnie Jones of Selah, Washington and nephew Jerry Smith, Jr. of Conyers.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Folds was held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Word of God Lutheran Church, 303 Kelly Drive, Peachtree City, Ga. with Rev. John M. Weber, Rev. John Frazer and Rev. Larry Lystig. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, 699 Legion Rd, NE, Conyers, Ga.

The family received friends Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carl J. Mowell & Son, Peachtree City, Ga.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Word of God Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
