A potential cart path linking Peachtree City and Senoia will be discussed by the Peachtree City Council Thursday night.

Peachtree City staff will present a conceptual route, proposed connections and costs along with funding sources to council. Staff wants a decision from council on the potential to draft an inter-governmental agreement with Senoia and how to allocate funding, or to decline the request.

The Senoia City Council at its meeting Monday night had the item on the agenda for discussion purposes only.

Senoia City Manager Richard Ferry noted three potential alternatives that could be used if or when the path is built.

Two of the potential alternatives, those more likely to be feasible, would begin in the area of Meade Park near Ga. Highway 74 and extend down Rockaway Road. A third potential option could have the path extend from Meade Park to the baseball and soccer fields and cross Line Creek into the Heritage Pointe subdivision.

While part of Senoia’s long-range plan to potentially connect the two cities, the biggest hurdle is funding that may well be out of reach.
