Fayette and Coweta counties could see some snow starting tonight through tomorrow morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast is for “rain mixing with or changing to snow” with potential accumulation for between a half-inch to an inch of snow on the ground, according to the forecast.

And with the snow also predicted for points north, commuting tomorrow could be tricky depending on how much snow accumulates. Drivers are advised to use caution, especially on bridges and overpasses which typically are first to freeze over.

This morning the National Weather Service Atlanta office, located in Peachtree City, issued a winter weather advisory in advance of the storm. The advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. today to noon Thursday.
