Dr. Jeffery V. Curtis, 53, of Peachtree City, passed away February 22, 2014.

He was a very well-known and respected physician, currently the Medical Director for The Doctor’s Office-Emory, practicing medicine in Peachtree City since 1992.

Dr. Curtis, formerly of Chattanooga, Tenn., graduated from Sprayberry High School, Marietta, Ga. in 1979. He earned his college degrees at Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine, the University of Georgia and Oxford College of Emory University. He practiced medicine in West Palm Beach, Fla. before moving to Peachtree City.

He was past president of the Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association, District 1 and also Secretary/Treasurer and Director of South Fulton Health Net, Inc., Georgia International Health Alliance, Inc., South Fulton Health Care Center, Inc., Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and ABC Home Health. He was also Adjunct Professor in the Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program, School of Nursing at Kennesaw State University, Past President of Fayette County Exchange Club, Chairman of Managed Care Committee for Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association and several other distinguished honors and committees.

Dr. Curtis is survived by his wife, Karen Seadler Curtis of Peachtree City; children Alec and Olivia Curtis; parents James “Buddy” and Shirley Curtis; sisters Kimberly Curtis Swann (Ted), Kristy Curtis Mitchell (Carlos) and Karen Lynn Curtis; mother-in-law Mary Jo Seadler; brothers-in-law Ronald Seadler (Theresa) and Martin Seadler; sisters-in-law Linda Seadler Scanlan (Don), Cheryl Seadler Franck (David) and Terri Seadler Cook, all from Louisville, Ky. area; sister-in-law Donna Seadler of Atlanta, Ga. Karen Seadler Curtis is formerly from Louisville, Ky. and graduated from Doss High School in 1983.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 26th from 4 until 8 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, February 27th at 11 a.m. at Dogwood Church, 975 Hwy 74, Tyrone, Ga. Pastor Keith Moore will officiate.

Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City.
