Mr. Owen William (Bill) Morris, Jr., age 77 of Hampton and Meansville, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011.

He is survived by his wife Norma Parker; daughters Teri (Mitchell) Clark of Leawood, KS and Darlene Taylor of McDonough; sons Mike (Desiree) Morris of Brooks and Doug (Kim) Parker of Appling; grandchildren Trent, Tanner, and Dillon Clark of Leawood, KS, Nicholas and Gabrielle Morris of Brooks, Ben Taylor of Augusta; Keri Taylor (Keith) Haire of Savannah; and Jenna and Kaley Parker of Augusta; sister Carole Morris of Marietta; sisters-in-law Cecelia (Jerry) Barber of Woolsey, Judy Tanous of Fayetteville, and Shirley Morris of Douglasville; brother-in-law Larry Raines of McDonough; and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Morris; parents Owen W. and Georgia Morris; brothers James Morris and Charles Morris; sister-in-law Jeannie Raines; and brother-in-law Harry Cafagno.

Bill was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. After losing Sandra, his wife of 52 years, Bill was blessed to find happiness and love again with Norma. A skilled A&P mechanic, Bill was employed by Southern Airways and served in the US Army. He also worked for Allegheny Airlines in Virginia and Pennsylvania. He returned to his home, Atlanta, to work for Eastern Airlines until retirement. He was also employed by Lockheed-Martin in South Carolina until his second (and final) retirement.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, March 21 at 5 PM at New Hope United Methodist Church, 1014 New Hope Dr., Hampton. The family will receive friends beginning 1 hour prior to service. Revs. Hans Hamm and Alan Wakeman will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Lung Association, www.lungusa.org/donate/
