HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS BRIEFS

McINTOSH

LACROSSE: Downed East Coweta 13-10 behind four goals from Craig Ward, three from Billy Magill, and two each by Sam Herman and Patrick Anderson. Barrett Bornhofen added a goal. Chris Costello and Jim O’Meill led the defense. The girls continued their winning streak with a 17-2 victory over Grady. Caitlin O’Brien scored five goals and Becca Beato added three. Shelby Durden had two goals and two assists.

SOCCER: Beat Northgate 1-0 (girls) on a late goal by Taylor Dowse with an assist by Amy Brewer. Goalkeeper Hannah Graham along with defenders Taylor Butler, Emily Perez and Chandler Wituki shut out the Northgate attack. The boys defeated Northgate 7-0 behind two goals each from Adam Sheikali, Chris Dognazzi and Conner Halmi. Nick Alvey also scored a goal.

SANDY CREEK

SOCCER: Topped LaGrange 3-1 (girls) behind three goals by Sophia Bonser and two assists from Emma Presberg. The boys lost 2-1 to LaGrange.

STARR’S MILL

LACROSSE: Defeated Holy Innocents’ (girls) 16-14. Meghan Mills and Rachel Moore scored five goals each. Solid defense from Katie Wilson, Grace Beardsley, Megan Binkley and Marie Dedrick prevented a late comeback.

SOCCER: Won 10-0 over Ola (girls) Tuesday. Scoring for the Panthers were Molly Moroney (2 goals and 2 assists), Riley Clark (1 goal and 2 assists), Ashley Broderick (2 goals), Lauren Yoss (1 goal and 1 assist), Carly Pressgrove (1 goal and 1 assist), Ansley Peurifoy (1 goal and 1 assist), Leslie Logan (1 goal), Sarah Yoss (1 goal) and Kayla Feigenbaum (1 assist). The win raises the team’s record to 12-1-0 overall and 6-0-0 in the region.

TENNIS: Won over McIntosh 5-0 and 5-0. Girls’ singles winners were Erin Egoroff, Rachael Williams and Caroline Kelly; doubles winners were Mary Katherine Lloyd/Emily Smith and Kailey Inhulsen/Shannon McKillip with identical 6-2, 6-0 scores. Boys’ singles winners were Dubie Dubin, Ben Lee and Noah McPherson; boys’ doubles winners were Shaaz Peerani/Andre Curiel and Sebastian Schneider/Corbin Skinner.

WHITEWATER

SOCCER: Shut out Forest Park (girls) 8-0 as Emily Peterson scored three goals, Bella Millians scored twice, and the Lady Wildcats got a goal apiece from Abby Smithwick, Aubrey Heard and Haleigh Mueninck. Emily Jordan and Claire Messina each had a save in goal.
