While Senoia has no organized gang activity, the police department thought if would be appropriate to bring an increased awareness of gangs and gang identification to city residents.

To that end, Investigator Alicia Batts will conduct a gang information seminar for residents on April 25 at 7 p.m. at the Freeman Sasser building on Seavy Street.

“There are no current gang problems here, but they are slowly creeping into the areas around us,” Chief Jason Edens told City Council members at the April 4 meeting, noting that the department’s intent is to be proactive in terms of community awareness.

The meeting is intended for parents, children and all those interested in learning more about gangs and gang activity.
