At the home of Debi Lenox in Peachtree City, volunteers and staff gathered to celebrate a successful “2013 Chair-ity Event” benefitting The Children’s Village at Christian City. While there, Heidi Becker, Marketing and Development Director for Christian City, received a check for over $79,000 raised at the annual holiday celebration.

“We are grateful for the Host Committee and the group of dedicated volunteers, lead by chair Carla Waters, who selflessly work behind the scenes to make this a fabulous event. And, for the support from so many local businesses, artists, sponsors and guests. Each of them plays such an important role in helping us care for our children.”

This year marked the 7th anniversary of this popular event that brings community leaders, local artists, and area residents together to raise funds for abandoned, abused, and otherwise homeless children.

With the help of close to 60 corporate sponsors, 70 local businesses and 25 artists from across metro Atlanta, much-needed funds were raised for the children’s home that has served the community for almost 50 years.

The Children’s Village at Christian City is located in Union City and serves children from across the metro Atlanta area and beyond.

The children, victims of abuse or neglect, live in cottages with full-time houseparents.

Christian City is also part of the National Safe Place program providing temporary shelter to runaway and homeless youth.
