Staff Sgt. U.S. Army Duane E. Moger (Ret.), 53, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away April 4, 2012.

Born in Cook County, Ill., he was a son of the late Roy Rolland and Joyce Violet Wallwin Moger.

Sgt 1st class Moger proudly served and retired from the United States Army after dedicating over 22 years in service. He will be remembered as a patriot who loved his country, a proud father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. Mr. Moger loved his country and the Lord, always bringing friends to God.

Survivors include his daughter, Zamira M. (Hubert Anthony) Bryant, Jr., of Pelion S.C.; son, Duane R. Moger of Hinesville, Ga.; grandchildren, Della Bryant, Hubert Bryant III, Haven Moger, Nathan Moger; brothers, Brian, Kevin and Kerry Moger. His former wife and mother of his children, Eloisa Moger.

The funeral service for Mr. Moger will be held Tues., April 10, 2012, at 12 p.m. at Saint Katherine Orthodox Church, 1050 Clay Hill Road, Pelion, S.C. 29123. The family will greet friends beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Father Hubert Anthony Bryant will be officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorials may be made to Saint Katherine Orthodox Church. Shives Funeral Home is assisting the family.
