F’ville woman killed in 1-car crash Friday
A 22-year-old Fayetteville woman died early Friday morning after her vehicle ran off Lees Mill Road, according to Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb.
Simone Marks of Fayetteville was pronounced dead at the scene, Babb said.
It is believed that Marks lost control of her vehicle as she crested a hill near Buckeye Road, Babb said. After leaving the road, the vehicle struck a culvert and two trees before coming to rest, he added.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be involved in the crash.
Deputies responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m. after receiving an emergency call.
“It’s always tragic when a traffic accident results in a fatality, and especially sad when a young person loses their life,” Babb said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Ms. Marks during this difficult time.”
