Mrs. Emmi Hanni Wuerz, of Fayetteville, passed away on June 11, 2011 at the age of 86.

Lovingly known as “Oma,” she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who believed in the importance of family. Emmi came to the United States from her home in Germany on December 12, 1999 and the family celebrated that occasion each year. She was a music lover who taught herself how to play the harmonica and accordion. She is described as one who was easy going, and who was always willing to help others.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Wuerz, and son Reinhard Wuerz.

She is survived by her daughter Trudy McPhaul (husband Gene) of Fayetteville; grandsons Thomas Wuerz and Andy Wuerz both of Germany, Richard McPhaul (wife Meghan) of Acworth; seven great-grandchildren; brother Heiner Grein of Germany; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville. Pastor Justin Kollmeyer will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. 257 Hwy 314 Fayetteville, GA 30214.
