George Robert Mortati, of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away June 30, 2014. He was born November 29, 1926 in Corona, N.Y. to the Late Angelo Mortati and Carmela (Bruno) Mortati.

Mr. Mortati was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Arline Lucille (Comenzo) Mortati and his only brother Franklin Mortati.

He leaves behind his son David Mortati; two daughters, Debra (Mortati) Werbick, Max Werbick of Baumberg, Germany, Lorraine (Mortati) Stasko, Andrew Stasko of Peachtree City, Ga.; five grandchildren, David, Aaron, Sarah, Adam and Andrew and four great-grandchildren, Ashton Taylor, Indiana Rayne, Lilith and Aaron.

George served his country during World War 2. He studied under his uncle, the trade of being a Silversmith. He owned and operated his own business until 2004, Chatham Silversmith in Chatham, N.J. where he resided for 60 years. George and Arline moved to Peachtree City, Ga. in 2008 to live with their daughter. Although suffering from Parkinson’s Disease for the last 10 years, George lived a full and active life living with his family, sharing their tremendous support along with close friends, lending their help whenever needed. He will be loved and missed.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11a.m. at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
