2 more Dunkin’ Donuts coming to Peachtree City

Dunkin’ Donuts announced June 28 the signing of a multi-unit store development agreement with Peter and Arjun Patel for two restaurants in Peachtree City, Ga.
The first restaurant is slated to open this year and the second in 2013. Locations were not announced. Currently there are two DD franchises in Fayette, one just east of Peachtree City and the other in Fayetteville.
The Patels have been Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees for over five years and currently own and operate two restaurants in Augusta.
“We are excited to expand Dunkin’ Donuts’ presence in the Peachtree City market and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work and visit here,” said Peter Patel. “We have a strong passion and loyalty for the brand and look forward to the opening of our additional restaurants in the years to come.”

Historically a doughnut and hot coffee chain, Dunkin’ Donuts has expanded its offering to include frozen and iced beverages, a full bakery assortment including bagels and muffins, breakfast sandwiches, and an all-day Oven-Toasted menu which includes flatbread sandwiches, hash browns and buttermilk biscuits. The platform marks the most significant change to Dunkin’ Donuts’ product lineup since the company launched espresso-based beverages in 2003.
Founded in 1950, Dunkin’ Donuts is the largest coffee and baked goods chain in the world. The company has more than 9,700 restaurants in 31 countries worldwide. In 2010, Dunkin’ Donuts’ global system-wide sales were $6.0 billion. Based in Canton, Massachusetts, Dunkin’ Donuts is a subsidiary of Dunkin’ Brands, Inc.

Dunkin and Starbucks-not long to live!
3-4 dollar coffee and 1-2 dollar doughnuts, and crappy sandwiches?
All they are now is a place for yuppies to congregate and brag about their latest gadget!
Just more of the over consumption of the USA that has caused the coming depression!

Kinda like the boomers congregating at DD after the bars closed back in the 70's and 80's so they could get their sugar high after the other high. Caffeine, sugar, booze and weed. A whole generation is still alive. Imagine that. Imagine all the people...

yay for DD
Though the last thing we all need is more starch and cholesterol I have to say I'm happy to be getting more DDs in PTC. I've only ever gone through the drive through at the one near Publix and the employees have always been pretty friendly. I hope the Patels continue to hire smiling people and encourage their current folks to keep up the good work. I haven't yet been disappointed with the bagels or coffee which are the only things I get.

Indians love to own Dunkin Doughnuts
I've noticed that most Dunkin Doughnuts are owned by people from India. I googled it, and I guess I'm not the only one. Subway's too.

Not mentioned as being owned/run by the Patels:

I work in Augusta during the week and visit their DD almost daily. Good friendly service and never seen a cleanliness problem.

I wonder if it is the same "family". Patel is the most common name in India. More common that Smith or Jones in this country. Know who owns the most hotels in the USA? Patels. There is a Patel family that owns the DQ in PTC, also. I think a Patel also own(ed) the Brusters that closed by Publix, too.
I truly hope these 2 stores have good service and fresh donuts.

The DQ franchise in Peachtree City is indeed managed/owned by an Indian Family the name not being Patel.
Many Indian owned establishments struggle unsuccessfully with the cultural differences. The folks who run the PTC DQ are an example of people who have worked hard to make their business competitive.

I did not realize that name was so popular amongst them. I would think the reporter would have thought to mention that they owned some already in PTC/F-ville, if so! Anyway, the one I frequent here is a very new style, has a kind of 'Starbucks' feel inside, and is clean (due perhaps to its newness?).

Dunkin Donuts
I've not seen any flies at the one in front of Publix just a poor selection of stale doughnuts. When I asked why the selection was so limited I was told by an employee that doughnuts were not made on site but were delivered from the other store early in the morning. I've never had a really fresh doughnut from there. If we're talking about the same ownership for the two new stores it doesn't look to good. If this thread continues I may forward it to their HQ. Maybe comments from several people will get their attention.

I have stopped going to our PTC store due to the lack of selection and freshness. Add to that staff that just doesn't seem to have any zest for the job and it is blah to the extreme.

Dumpin' Donuts
I wasn't aware that any of their locations actually made donuts...I am pretty sure they are delivered from elsewhere. If u want some real donuts that are fresh and just made, put on your hat backwards and head to Riverdale and Krispy Kreme. It's worth the trip.
While in Riverdale, might as well stop by Mo-Jo's there and get some great chicken wings that blow away the pigeon-wings commonly found in FC. Big Jim's in Senoia just outside of PTC is another good place to get some damn good chicken wings.

Dunkin Donuts in PTC
let's hope the service is a step above what is offered at the one a Publix.
Maybe take over the closed chicken place on Crosstown? Best coffee there is.

I went in the DD at Publix once. The place was overrun with
flies. They were all over the pastries etc. I couldn't believe it, when i mentioned it to the young server his reply was that it was always like that and acted like it was not unusual.. When he asked what I wanted I told him nothing, thanks, walked out and never returned. I really do not relish having fly droppings in or on what I eat or drink. Let's hope if others open that they find a way to avoid this problem.

DD at Publix
I went to this DD once in the early evening to find out that they stopped making donuts hours ago. All that was left was left overs. I haven't been back since either.

DD Ownership of franchises
unfortunately, looks like these 2 new stores will have the same ownership as the existing one. That is too bad.
After one of my (2) bad experiences there, I emailed their corporate hdqtrs. in Ma. and got a form letter back saying the issue would be forwarded back to the franchise owner to handle and I would hear from them. Never heard a word. That was and will be the last time I ever went/will go there.
I'll give the new ones one shot, that's it. Up in NE, these stores are on every street corner and in every shopping center. They all are well run, too. Maybe the Patels need to go back to Dunkin Donuts University in Braintree, Ma. and get retrained in the true ways of this company. (Yup, it's called DDU by the locals-google it.)

Agreed, a total dump there. Way better up North.
they went public a few days ago. Opened the day with an IPO at $19.00. Closed the first day at $27.85.
They have 6800 stores now. They are going to add 3000 more in the next 5 years. That is just on the east coast. Then, after that, they will move into the west coast, doubling their stores.
Time to make the donuts!
