Chad Long, Locust Grove, spoke to the members of the Clyde Thomason Detachment #1325 of the Marine Corps League during their July meeting. Long is the Department of Georgia Jr Vice Commandant and the District 3 Vice Commandant. He is also a member of the Military Order of the Devil Dogs where he is a Pedigree Devil Dog and serves as the Pound 350 Dog Robber and the Georgia Pack Mad Dog.

The Clyde Thomason detachment serves Coweta and Fayette counties and meets every second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Christ the King Church on Highway 34 between Peachtree City and Newnan.

Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps, banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service that they may effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy, voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines, FMF Corpsmen and former Marines and FMF Corpsmen and to their widows and orphans; and to perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.

The next meeting will be Tuesday August 8. All honorably discharged Marines and FMF Corpsmen are invited to attend. The detachment has a web site at www.MCL1325.net.
