J. Brent Edward, 77, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away July 23, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Ogden, Utah, August 19, 1936, to the late John B. Edward and Donna M. Edward.

Brent worked as an Aviation Safety Inspector with the National Simulator Program, for the Federal Aviation Administration. He was retired from Northwest Airlines, after many years of flying in corporate aviation. He was an avid pilot, serving his country as a Navy Reconnaissance pilot, flying the RF8 Crusader.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy; sons Brent M. (Whitney) Edward of Boise, Idaho, and John B. (Jennifer) Edward of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter Leslie M. (Kurt) Bartlett of Spring Hill, Tenn.; 7 wonderful grandchildren, Mackenzie, Abigail, Brooke, Gunnar, Stirling, Derrik and Max B.; and brother Ross (Jeanette) Edward of Leonardtown, Maryland.

Brent loved his family above everything else. His spare time was spent traveling, leisurely enjoying the history of each different country he visited, reading, and framing art collected during his travels.

A visitation will be held Monday, July 28, from 6-8 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. Burial will take place in Ogden, Utah.
