Florence Stewart Smith, age 90, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012.

Funeral services will be on Friday, August 3, 2012, at the Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home in Peachtree City at 5 p.m. with Brad Bishop, First Counselor of the Peachtree City Ward Bishopric presiding and conducting.

Visitation will be held on Friday starting at 4 p.m. Graveside service and burial at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery in Lompoc, Calif. will be on Tuesday or Wednesday, Aug. 7 or 8, 2012.

Douglas Pike, former Bishop of the Lompoc Ward, will preside at the graveside service.

Florence was born on November 12, 1921 in Hinckley, Utah. She had five sisters and five brothers.

She is survived by sister Mary (Vance) Abbott of Delta, Utah, sister Jean Caldwell of Yorba Linda, Calif., brother Reed (JoAnn) Stewart of Magna, Utah, brother Duane (Ivania) Stewart of Bellingham, Wash., and Brother Don (Liz) Stewart of Bountiful, Utah. Also living are son Fred (Loretta) Smith of Tyrone, Ga., daughter Lorie (Marc) Gookin of Hillsboro, Ore., and daughter-in-law Kathy Smith of Evans, Ga. She has nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Walker Stewart, parents George and Clara Stewart, sister Delna (Dee) Arthur, husband Fred Smith, sister Norma (Bud) Pate, son Lyle Smith, brother Lyle (Via) Stewart, and sister Joy (Myron) Christensen.

She was an excellent wife, mother, homemaker, cook and seamstress. Florence worked for the Lompoc Record Newspaper as a secretary. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She believed in Jesus Christ and the power of prayer.
