Close hauled..

on a starboard tack. I wonder how many little minions does it take to "fly" a spinnaker?

moe - Regatta

Nah, not really. As a kid, I did participate in a few races around Terminal Island (San Pedro, Ca) in my little sailing sabot.

Those look

pretty manageable. Bet you had fun. The big ones just look like so much work. That, and worrying about being hit in the head and being knocked overboard. Closest I've ever been (which really isn't close at all) was on a Chris Craft wood motor boat on a lake up north that my grandfather owned. Learned to water ski and had some great summers on the lake. The movie On Golden Pond was filmed not too far from where we used to go out. Nothing more relaxing than being out on the water in my book. Good memories.
