As students recognized Constitution Week at Whitewater High, they had the opportunity to see actual war artifacts used by soldiers during the American Revolution, bringing a greater appreciation for the sacrifices made by the early freedom fighters.

The high school’s PTSO (Parent, Teacher, Student Organization) funded the American Values Traveling Museum that came to Whitewater on September 16. Memorabilia featured in the traveling museum includes artifacts from the American Revolution all the way through the modern “War on Terror.”

Local pastor Knox Herndon, who has been collecting war memorabilia for over 40 years, assembled the museum that travels to schools around the metro Atlanta area, bringing to life the sacrifices made by the thousands of soldiers, both past and present, who fought and died for freedom.
