Representatives of Euro Auction USA on Sept. 16 received approval to have nearly 43 acres on Raymond Hill Road off Interstate 85 rezoned light industrial (LM). The vote by Coweta County commissioners was unanimous.

The long-time site of a car auction company, Euro Auction USA representative John Hall said the company bought the property in 2013 and has spent approximately $500,000 to upgrade the facility which was “in shambles.” The company has conducted five auctions thus far and plans call for holding construction equipment auctions three times per year.

Hall said the former auto auction company brought up to 165,000 vehicles to the site each year while Euro Auction will bring 3,000-3,500 vehicles for auction per year.

The Euro Auction USA property includes nearly 43 acres on five tracts. Those tracts carried commercial, rural conservation and multi-family residential zoning.

Euro Auction initially requested industrial (M) zoning though Hall agreed with the recommendation by county planning staff that the property be zoned light industrial (LM) due to the presence of nearby subdivisions.

“The applicant notes that 42.89 acres will be brought into the business operations as it grow utilizing the property for additional office/administration, parking and proposed storage as well as access to various parts of the site,” said county planning director Robert Tolleson.

Euro Auction USA operates worldwide.
