Engagement and Marriage Sucess

First, Congrats to the engaged couple and then, as today is our 42d Anniversary, I will tell you that your recipe for a successful marriage is bogus. It's all about give & take, patience, and understanding and it all comes from within not from Scripture or anyone else's writings.

Hey Gym

Congrats on you and your young bride's anniversary. I'm sorry about the late response. The Citizen's anti-spam control device thingy has me looked down at the house. Grrrr......

Congratulations!!

Congratulations on your engagement! I'm writing you to let you know that I was very happy to read about your engagement in the newspaper.
For a marriage to thrive, God needs to be involved in the relationship. His Word says: “A threefold cord cannot quickly be torn in two.” (Eccl. 4:12) “Threefold cord” is a figurative expression. When this illustration is applied to marriage, it includes the husband and wife, the first two strands, who are intertwined with the central strand, God. Being united with God gives a couple the spiritual strength to cope with problems, and it is the key to achieving the greatest happiness in marriage.

Congratulations!

When one reads about couples like you, one realizes that America is still in good hands. My husband and I are in our 50th year of marriage. Love, respect for self and others, and kindred tastes has contributed to a lasting relationship. If you choose to marry in a church, then it is safe to say that God and the community of humankind are a definite 'strand' in your belief system. Blessings.
