0A charity in Tyrone that provides customized care packages for U.S. troops overseas is seeking volunteers for a large-scale packing event Dec. 2-4 and Dec. 9.
HeroBox will bus the volunteers from their local office to the Home Depot headquarters in Atlanta, and meals will be provided along with a T-shirt in exchange for helping from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., organizers said.
HeroBox is trying to reach a goal of 5,000 boxes and already has donations and supplies on hand for 3,600 of them, said executive director Ryan Housley.
“We’re packing more HeroBoxes than ever and desperately need volunteers to help pack and ship the Heroboxes,” Housley said.
