Santa and the annual Newnan Christmas parade will take over the downtown area on Dec. 13 where the activities surrounding a “Storybook Christmas” will unfold for the large crowd expected.

The parade will be held downtown on Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. and includes a forecast that calls for clear skies and parade-time temperatures near 50 degrees.

The parade will begin at Lagrange Street and will proceed to North Court Square. The parade will make a right turn onto East Court Square then another right onto Greenville Street. The parade will continue along Greenville Street to the Coweta County Justice Center.

It’s a “Storybook Christmas” so bring on the best Christmas stories, said Newnan Public Information Officer Gina Snider, adding that the parade will include floats, walking groups, decorated cars and trucks and marching bands.

“We are looking forward to the parade this year as we enjoy the downtown lights in Newnan. It’s always an anticipated activity for the city. Christmas is a very special time and it is fun to help spread the Christmas cheer. To the delight of all the kids, Santa Claus is coming to town,” said Snider.
