A homeless man who fled from police while being questioned in Peachtree City on Dec. 11 was located and arrested near St. Paul Lutheran School.

Christopher Cudd, 27, was charged with second-degree criminal damage to property, obstruction and giving a false name, according to jail records.

Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Mark Brown said Cudd had been seen in the vicinity of the Kedron Holiday Inn on Wednesday, adding that a warrant had been issued on Dec. 9 for criminal damage.

Brown said an officer saw Cudd in the vicinity of the Holiday Inn on Thursday and confronted him. Cudd subsequently fled the scene, Brown said. Crabapple Elementary School and St. Paul Lutheran School on the city’s north side were locked down temporarily Thursday afternoon while offices searched the area. Cudd was located behind St. Paul Lutheran School, Brown said.
