Chaplin Howard Tisdale, 92 of Peachtree City

Chaplin Howard Tisdale, 92 of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away Dec. 22, 2013.

He was born on Oct. 25, 1921 in Ellisville, Miss. to the late Samuel & Ethel Tisdale. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a graduate of Auburn University and also a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, one of the largest seminaries in the world, located in Louisville, Ky..

He retired as Chaplin Counselor for Ryder Truck Lines. Chaplin Howard was active in the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City since 1970, active in Job Seekers for 12 years, and he was a former president for Kiwanis of Peachtree City.

As an avid golfer, he was a hole-in-one winner at the age of 80. He will be missed by family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife, of 66 years, Suzy Tisdale; his son, Bob Tisdale of Peachtree City; 3 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home Chapel in Peachtree City with Reverend Kenneth Brown officiating.

A visitation will be on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 2 p.m.-5p.m. Interment will be at Westminster Memorial Gardens with US Navy military honors.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City.

Spelling

First, my condolences to the family of Chaplain Tisdale. I appreciate the life of service Howard gave to his Lord.

The term for a workplace clergy is spelled C-H-A-P-L-A-I-N. Not Chaplin, which is the last name of a famous family of silent film comedians/actors as in Charlie Chaplin.
