On Saturday, December 14, 2013 in Interlachen, Fla., Kathryn Joann (Koop) Lee passed away, joining her husband William R. Lee in the Kingdom of Our Lord. She was born March 14, 1934, the second daughter of Harold Edgar and Clara (Euler) Koop in East Meadow, Long Island, N.Y.

Kathryn was a retired pharmacy technician and enjoyed a varied work history while raising six children. She was a faithful member of Interlachen First Baptist Church.

She will always be remembered for her love of Christ and her constant efforts to bring The Word of God to all those around her. Her life was filled with giving care to others: her children, her church family, and residents of nursing homes and hospice facilities in her local community.

Her children are grateful for many things their mom passed on to them: her strength and perseverance, respect for others and themselves, the importance of family, being thankful for what you have and being positive in every way, no matter what your trials and tribulations.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two of her sons, Douglas H. Shamrock and Mark S. Shamrock.

She leaves behind four children. Daughters: Laura L. Shamrock (Jeff Clifton) and Mya Lee Carden (Barry) of Brooks, Ga., sons: Joseph F. Shamrock, Jr. of Fayetteville, Ga., and Michael D. Shamrock (Denise) of Senoia, Ga.; her grandchildren: Joseph Shamrock, III, Jeffrey P. Clifton, Jr., Michael D. Shamrock, Jr., James W. Clifton, Thomas S. Shamrock, Amanda Hayes, Douglas H. Shamrock, Jr., Bernice Joanne Gray, Lori Shamrock, Nathan J. Byars, Misty Foster, Barry Carden, Jr., and Jonathan Cox; her great-grandchildren: Devin, Desmond, De’Shun, Destinee, Deondre, Dequan, Peyton, Bryson, Matthew, Chloe, Taylor, Adrianna, Douglas III, Riley, Bentley, Blake, Brooke, Austin, Dylan and Cameron; her sister, Ginger Dennis; nieces, Cheryl Hunt and Anne Trammell, nephews Bobby Drake and Dean Oliver; great-nieces Hannah and Desiree; great-nephew Zachary; Her very best friend forever, Cathy Burnett; and many “adopted” church children.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Interlachen, Interlachen, Fla. with Pastor Tony Clubb and Pastor Chris White officiating.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the children’s ministry of First Baptist Church of Interlachen, 115 S CR 315, Interlachen, Fla. 32148.
