Christmas is in the air at Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville. Members are once again dusting up on their British accents and preparing to host their annual Dickens Village, held nightly, Thursday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 12 from 6-9 p.m.

Since 2000, each December, the members of Heritage have recreated a 19th Century English Village complete with period costumed cast members, strolling carolers, chimney sweeps, and even some English bobbies to keep the peace. Read More»

The Rev. J. Barrett Owen, a 2010 graduate of the McAfee School of Theology of Mercer University in Atlanta, has been called as pastor of National Heights Baptist Church, Fayetteville.

A resident of Atlanta, Owen has most recently served as pastor of Union Baptist Church, Pine Mountain. As a seminary and college student, he also served as youth minister, devotional writer and speaker, and camp and retreat pastor in a variety of national and international settings. Read More»

The Youth of Fayette Presbyterian Church on Ga. Highway 92 North will host their annual Santa’s Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, Dec. 11 at the church.

A fundraiser for the group’s 2011 ski trip, the supper will be at 5:30 p.m.

Suggested donation is $5 per adult and $2 per child.

After dinner, Santa will stop by for pictures with the children.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hammonds of Luthersville, Mrs. Imogene Barker of Sharpsburg, and the late Arvell Stephens of Fayetteville.
