“Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright, ‘round yon virgin mother and child. Holy infant so tender and mild, sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.”

Each face is aglow in the amber ring of candlelight. Each set of eyes twinkles with the flicker of the small flame. Each heart is full and warm with the message of peace on earth. Rolling Hills youth minister to homeless

On Dec. 5, the Youth Group from Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Fayetteville, along with several adults from the congregation, traveled to downtown Atlanta to minister to approximately 200 homeless men and women.

While there, the group witnessed to individuals, and handed out sweatshirts and toiletry bags containing deodorant, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and hand lotion.

The Rolling Hills Youth Group makes quarterly trips to Atlanta to serve the homeless; feeding and distributing much needed items such as clothing, hygiene products, and shoes. Read More»

St. Christopher’s will bless animals this Saturday

Peachtree City’s St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church will host its first community-wide “Blessing of the Animals” on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. until noon in the church parking lot.

Father George Tsahakis will lead a short service to begin the event and be available to bless pets individually throughout the event.

Any and all animals are welcome. If it walks, swims, flies, slithers or crawls, it is welcome and will be blessed individually. All animals must be caged or on leashes. Read More»

St. Paul’s children’s program is tonight in Peachtree City

Advent Worship for this week at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will consist of a Children’s Christmas Program at 7 p.m. No dinner will be served this evening.

On Dec. 19, the church will host a Happy Birthday Jesus Party and Christmas Carol Singing at 9:30 a.m. during the Sunday School hour. No Bible classes will be held on this day.

Jazz Christmas service featured at COS Sunday

Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will offer a Jazz Christmas Service on Dec. 19 at 6 p.m.

Featured will be the Clarinet Choir, conducted by Karl Dietmeyer. Everyone will be invited to sing carols in a different flavor.

Soloists and ensembles will also bring a jazz turn to familiar Christmas songs. Everyone is invited.

The church is at the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Ga. Highway 54.

Christ the King announces two recent CEC seminary graduates

The Rev. Deacon James Gardner of Tyrone and the Rev. Deacon Jason Epps of Sharpsburg, recently successfully completed the comprehensive oral examination phase required for graduation from St. Michael’s Seminary of San Clemente, Calif., the denominational seminary for the Charismatic Episcopal Church.

Gardner has also completed the required comprehensive written examination phase. Both have completed all course work necessary for the master of ministry degree and both men serve at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg. Read More»

What would you say is the biggest Christmas surprise you ever experienced? If you believe the TV commercials, someone is going to walk out their front door Christmas morning, and a shiny new Lexus will be parked there with a red bow on top. Surprise!

Last Christmas, Mike Simon of Mundy Township, Mich., surprised his wife with her 3,800-square-foot “dream home” on Christmas day. After opening presents, the family loaded up to go to brunch, and Mike intentionally drove his family by this house that his wife had been admiring and had been calling her “dream home.” Read More»

Christmas is in the air at Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville. Members are once again dusting up on their British accents and preparing to host their annual Dickens Village, held nightly, Thursday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 12 from 6-9 p.m.

Since 2000, each December, the members of Heritage have recreated a 19th Century English Village complete with period costumed cast members, strolling carolers, chimney sweeps, and even some English bobbies to keep the peace. Read More»
