James L. Friday, Sr., 73, of Peachtree City

James "Jim" L. Friday, Sr., 73, of Peachtree City, passed away on May 14, 2012.

He was born in Birmingham, Ala., in 1939, graduated from Lee High School in Jacksonville, Fla. in 1957. He then entered the U.S. Navy in 1957, serving aboard submarines until 1966.

He married Marion Forehand in 1957 and was hired as a pilot by Eastern Airlines in 1966. Jim founded Mid-Georgia Courier, Inc. in 1982 and was one of the founders of The Fayette Youth Protection Home in 1988. He was a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Read More»

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Bennett Adams; parents, James and Annie Lanier and siblings, James Lanier, J.V. Lanier and Linnie Mae Clemmins.

Kathy Jann Herriman Baker, 57, of Peachtree City

Kathy Jann Herriman Baker, 57, of Peachtree City, Ga., died May 12, 2012 after a long battle with breast cancer.

She was born September 8, 1954 in Springdale, Ark., to Arlis and Madelyn (Cook) Herriman.

Veronica Fontaine, 90, of Peachtree City

Mrs. Veronica Fontaine, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away on May 13, 2012 at the age of 90.

Mrs. Fontaine was born and raised in Exchange, Pa., before enlisting in the Coast Guard during WWII. Following basic training she was assigned to a position in New Orleans, La. where she coordinated activities for servicemen before they were shipped out for duty assignments. Read More»

He is survived by his sons, Bryan Griffith of Sharpsburg; Brandon Griffith of Newnan; mother, Marlene Pollard Mobley of Palmetto; sister, Cindy Lawrence, Fayetteville; niece, Kelly Lawrence; and nephew, Alex Lawrence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Watson officiating. Interment at Holly Hill Memorial Park.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 24 years, Victoria Theodoss Waugh; a son, Steven David, Jr.; and two daughters, Alexandra and Ariana. He is also survived by his sisters, Kimberly Brillon and her husband Russell, Kathleen Waugh, Linda Maneen and her husband Joseph and his brother Herbert Waugh and his wife Julia and many nieces and nephews.

Constance "Connie" Heller Kapur of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away on May 5, 2012 at the age of 54.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jack Kapur, son Christopher Kapur, daughter Dana Larson, and sister Joyce Pickens.

She was born on Oct. 11, 1957 in Suffern, N.Y. and graduated from Mahwah High School in 1976. She went on to work for Delta Airlines for over 34 years.
