Dr. Brian "Doc" Jefferson, 72, of Tyrone, Ga. passed away Sun., Mar. 23, 2014 at Hospice Atlanta.

He was born Aug. 2, 1941 in Wareham, Mass. to the late George Jefferson & Avis Rider Jefferson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Raymond Jefferson.

Brian grew up and graduated from high school in Wareham, Mass. His love of sailing and boating began as a young man spending time in the waters off Cape Cod. Brian spent several years serving his country in the Coast Guard. Read More»

He had been the visitation Pastor for Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church and known as "Father Frank."

He graduated from Capital University and Evangelical Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. He was a Pastor at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bethel Park, Pa.; started a mission church in Suitland, Md. (Bethany Lutheran); Pastor of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Lorain, Ohio; and founding Pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Port St. Lucie, Fla. He was president of Kiwanis Clubs in Ohio and Florida. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was also a sales supervisor and price coordinator for Associated Grocers Co-op, Inc.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife Geri Anderson; brother Howell P. Anderson and grandson Derek Dyer.

Avery Bailey age 89 of Locust Grove

Avery (A.O.) Bailey age 89 of Locust Grove, Ga. passed away on March 23, 2014. He was a loving and generous husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

A.O. was a proud World War II veteran who served his country in the Air Force. He was based in London and flew 25 raids over enemy lines in the B-17 as a flight engineer/gunner.
