Chester Cleal Ping, age 100, of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away on July 25, 2014.

He was born on June 13, 1914 to Charles Wesley Ping and Mary Alice Barkus Ping in Miller, S.D.

He was the co-owner of Ping McCurdy Century 21 Real Estate in Peachtree City, Ga. for more than 20 years and a past President of the Fayette Board of Realtors. Mr. Joel Jay "Sam" Bass, age 77, of College Park passed away Monday, July 21, 2014.

He was born to the late Lucille McFadden Bass and Alden G. Bass. Mr. Bass was a Graduate of Cadiz High (Class of 1954) and a United States Air Force Veteran (1954-1957). He graduated Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in 1959 and started working at Eastern Airlines (LaGuardia Airport) the same year. In 1960 he was awarded the Presidential Award for saving a Lockheed Electra from a fire at a terminal gate. He was an accomplished private pilot and rebuilder of general aviation aircraft. Elizabeth Horne, 94, of Fayetteville, Ga. died July 24, 2014. She was born on September 25, 1919 in Montgomery County, Ga. to parents, Martin McQueen and Ruth Riggs McQueen.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She outlived 2 husbands and her son. 

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Ruth Ogletree; stepdaughters, Alice McClanahan and Becky West; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

J. Brent Edward, 77, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away July 23, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Ogden, Utah, August 19, 1936, to the late John B. Edward and Donna M. Edward.

Brent worked as an Aviation Safety Inspector with the National Simulator Program, for the Federal Aviation Administration.
