Mr. Harold Calvin Turner, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away on June 1, 2012 at the age of 80.

Mr. Turner was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country in the Korean conflict. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted Christian and longtime member of the New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He believed in manners, and made certain that his sons did as well. Mr. (R.E.) "Papa Gene" Stell, Jr. of Senoia passed away on May 29, 2012.

Mr. Stell was retired from Delta Air Lines after 33 years of service.

Ruth H. Cook passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 20, 2012, after a brief illness. She was 89 years of age.

Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John (Jack) Richard Cook, as well as her parents George and Leonie Hausamann.

James L. Friday, Sr., 73, of Peachtree City

James "Jim" L. Friday, Sr., 73, of Peachtree City, passed away on May 14, 2012.

He was born in Birmingham, Ala., in 1939, graduated from Lee High School in Jacksonville, Fla. in 1957. He then entered the U.S. Navy in 1957, serving aboard submarines until 1966.

He married Marion Forehand in 1957 and was hired as a pilot by Eastern Airlines in 1966. Jim founded Mid-Georgia Courier, Inc. in 1982 and was one of the founders of The Fayette Youth Protection Home in 1988. He was a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Read More»
