Mrs. Itzel Marie Cartwright, age 92 of Fayetteville, passed away on Sun., April 8, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Cartwright was born in Cleveland, Tenn. on Sept. 7, 1919. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elbridge Fred Cartwright; parents, John W. Rice and Carlie Griffith. Donald Lloyd Groover of Fayetteville

Colonel Donald Lloyd Groover (GA Army National Guard Ret.) of Fayetteville, Ga., formerly of East Point, Ga., passed away on April 8, 2012 at the age of 76.

Colonel Groover was a proud veteran of the GA Army National Guard having served 35 years prior to his retirement. He was a 37 year employee of the Georgia Department of Labor where he served as a Contract Officer.

Lloyd was a good man, who was devoted to his family and had a great sense of humor. He was a long time member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. He loved gospel music and enjoyed singing in the choir. Read More»

Reba Ledford Rigsbee of Peachtree City

Jan. 23, 1921 - April 3, 2012, Reba was born in Hayesville, N.C. to Robert Lee and Minnie Lee Ledford.

The Ledfords raised eight children: Ronda, Ralph, Reba, Rena, Robert, Reuben, Robenia, and Ray.

Reba's life work was as a homemaker, but in her early career she worked for Union Carbide in Oak Ridge, Tenn. in the lab on the Manhattan Project. That is where she met and later married Wade Rigsbee on March 30, 1948.

Wade and Reba moved to Titusville, Fla. in 1964 eventually settling in Mims where they lived together until Wade passed away in 1995. Read More»

Duane E. Moger, 53, of Fayetteville

Staff Sgt. U.S. Army Duane E. Moger (Ret.), 53, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away April 4, 2012.

Born in Cook County, Ill., he was a son of the late Roy Rolland and Joyce Violet Wallwin Moger.

Sgt 1st class Moger proudly served and retired from the United States Army after dedicating over 22 years in service. Ms. Catherine (Tootsie) Starasinich Wadatz, 81, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away peacefully at her home on April 5, 2012. She was surrounded by loving family during her brief illness.

Mrs. Judy F. Christian, age 64, of Peachtree City passed away Monday, April 2, 2012.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Ross Christian of Peachtree City; daughters, Kimberly Bodnaruk and her husband, Stephen of McDonough, Jennifer Dickinson and her husband, Jason of Marietta; granddaughters, Olivia Bodnaruk, Riley Dickinson and Mackenzie Dickinson.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Orr officiating.

James "Jimmy" Arthur Payne, Jr, 59 of Fayetteville, passed away on March 29, 2012.

He was a long time member of Fayetteville Lodge #711 and the Fayette Shrine Club. He was also a member of the Outlaws M.C. He was greatly loved and will be missed by many.
