Jane Prince, of Fayetteville, formerly of Rome, Ga., passed away on October 2, 2012 at the age of 66.

Jane was a very loving and generous person. She was a charter member of the Harp's Crossing Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a member of the choir, handbell choir, Sunday school teacher, and in the home bound ministry. Mr. John Tyler Rigby, of Fayetteville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Oct. 5, 2012, at the age of 22.

Carol Ellen Vecchio, 72, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away October 8, 2012.

She was born in Queens, N.Y. on January 28, 1940 to Charles Wagner & Johnet A. Wagner.

J. R. Dalton, age 93

J. R. Dalton, age 93, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012.

Mr. Dalton , a retired pilot for Delta Airlines, was born March 15, 1919 in Toledo, Ohio and was a long time resident of East Point and Peachtree City, Ga. His commercial flying career extended from civilian flight instructor on C.P.T., Army Air Corps Primary Flight School, to Delta Airlines Captain on Douglas DC-3 to Boeing 747 equipment for 30 years. Jon Michael "Mike" Kattness, 40, of Peachtree City, passed away Sept. 27, 2012 after a long, valiant battle with cancer.

George Dewey Roberts, 82, of Fayetteville

Mr. George Dewey Roberts, 82, of Fayetteville passed away Saturday September 29, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Mr. Roberts was born on August 7, 1930 in Fayette County to the late Ellison and Lizzie Mae Roberts.

Mr. Roberts proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Roberts worked in the freight line industry for 33 years and is a long standing member of Woolsey Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

Betty Jean Roberts, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away on September 24, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her son, Nicky Roberts. She is survived by her husband, George Roberts, and cousins.

Mrs. Roberts attended Woolsey Baptist Church, where she was a member.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Rev. Chuck Chambers and Aaron Turner officiated. The burial followed at Whitewater Cemetery, Brooks. Read More»

Angela Helen Bergen, of Fayetteville, Ga., formerly of Miami, Fla., passed away on September 21, 2012, following an extended illness.

Angie, as she was known by most, was a caring person who loved everyone and everyone loved her. Her family and her church were first and foremost in her life. She was a faithful member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and prior to her illness, she could often be found doing volunteer work there.
