Helene E. D'Arcangelo

After a long struggle with lung cancer, Helene E. D'Arcangelo passed away at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, Ga. on Feb. 16, 2013 at the age of 78.

She was born on Feb. 4, 1935 to the late Eugene and Elizabeth Prohaske of Brooklyn, N.Y. Helene graduated from The Barbizon School of Modeling, New York, N.Y. in 1953. She modeled under the name of Helen Walker. On Oct. 17, 1954, she married career USAF officer Arcangelo M. D'Arcangelo in New York City. Opelousas-Born July 20, 1966 to Rebecca Davis and Elton Henry; Carla Yvette Henry Allen; passed away peacefully with family and friends at her side at a private hospital in Fayetteville, Ga., at the age of 46.

She attended Grolee Elementary, Opelousas Junior High, Opelousas Sr. High and Southern University and A & M College where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration & Public Policy. Mary Irene Shaw, age 92, passed away of natural causes in Peachtree City, Ga. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013.

Mary Irene Kennedy Shaw was born in Easton, Maine on Feb. 29, 1920. She graduated from Easton High School in 1937 as valedictorian. She was a lifelong member of the Rebekah Lodge and served as a state officer in Maine.

She loved her family and her grandchildren. She was an excellent bowler and enjoyed all of her bowling leagues. She was also quite a line dancer. Read More»

Mr. Allen Anderson Jackson, age 91, of Tyrone, Ga. passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, Ga. after a short illness.

He was born in White Plains, Ga. on Aug. 5, 1921 to the late Arthur and Estelle Anderson.

He is also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Hart Jackson and a daughter Angie Jackson.

Mr. Robert Lester Granger of Fayetteville, Ga. passed away Feb. 16, 2013 at the age of 95.

Mr. Granger was born in Smithfield, Pa. to Ernest Granger & Nellie Britt Granger. He served in the U.S. Navy. He then became a Delta Air Lines pilot & retired after 37 years of service. She is survived by her son, Cody King of Gay, Ga.; daughter, Courtney King of Gay, Ga.; parents, Grady and Hazel Landrum Ellington of Gay, Ga.; and Gene King of Gay, Ga.

She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
