Elpidio Apanay, 96, Fayetteville, died Sept. 2, 2010. He was preceded in death by son, Elpidio Apanay Jr. Memorial services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel. Survivors include sons Dr. Manolo and Gloria Apanay, Marietta, and Julian and Zeny Apanay, Las Vegas; daughters, Filomena and Eddie Dela Concha, Fayetteville, and Dolores and Gerry Morales, San Francisco; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Myna Apanay. Terry Lynn Long, Jr., age 27

Mr. Terry Lynn Long, Jr. (TJ) passed away Monday, September 6, 2010. TJ was 27 yrs old and attended Fayette County High School. He had been a quadriplegic since 2005. Mr. Terry Lynn Long, Jr. is survived by a daughter Bianca Garza and son Zachary Shae Sontimer. Lori Anne Evans Funk was born April 4, 1970 in Chester, PA and raised in Millville, PA. It was in Millville where Lori first began to follow her heart teaching and impacting the lives of children. In 2007, she found her dream job working with the Georgia Home School System in Atlanta helping students and teachers achieve their potential. She is survived by her daughters Susan Fitzgerald and her husband Al of Peachtree City; Sandra Stafford of Longwood FL ; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Annie Lou Preston of Summerfield NC ; nieces and nephews.

Earl Newton Thomas, 88

    Earl Newton Thomas, 88, died on August 20th after an extended illness at his home in Peachtree City surrounded by members of his family. 

  Thomas was a retired airline pilot and a decorated combat veteran of World War II. He and his family settled in the Atlanta metro area when he took a position with Delta Airlines in 1949.

 Born in Bluefield, West Virginia on November 16th, 1921, Thomas grew up in Roanoke, Virginia where he was a high school athlete with considerable talent; he played football, basketball and baseball. Read More»

Mr. Thomas Edward “Tom” Hunt, 57, formerly of Peachtree City

Mr. Thomas Edward “Tom” Hunt, age 57, of Woodbury, MN (formerly of Peachtree City) died Monday, August 23, 2010.

Mr. Hunt’s passion was information technology and was currently employed with Ecolab located in St. Paul, MN. He previously worked at Delta Air Lines for over 30 years.
