Herbert A. Rhoades of Fayetteville

Mr. Herbert A. (Buddy) Rhoades of Fayetteville passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2011.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Cook Rhoades and is survived by his daughter, Crystal Williams and her husband, John of St. Augustine, Fla.; sister, Lavada Thompson of St. Johns, Fla.; brother, Gerald Thompson and his wife Toni of St. Johns, Fla.

A funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Brannen officiating.

Ruth Lenora Schlegel

Ruth Lenora Schlegel, 89, of Peachtree City passed away November 29, 2011. Ruth was born in Brooklyn, NY to Edward Kling & Catherine Johnson Kling. Ruth retired from Consolidated Edison in NY as a customer service agent. She was an expert seamstress who taught sewing in New York City. She was a charter member and President of the Peachtree Pioneers in 1986-1987. Ruth was a volunteer for Travelers Aide at Hartsfield Atlanta Airport. She loved traveling with her friend Jessie Price. Frank Marshall, 92, of Peachtree City

Mr. R. Frank Marshall, 92, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at Doctor's Hospice in Fayettevile, Ga.

Mr. Marshall was born Dec. 27, 1918 in Long Hollow, Va. to the late Charlie and Ethel Marshall.

He retired as president of Central Georgia Production Credit Association, a division of the Federal Land Bank. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army and a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Ga.

Mr. Gregory Terrell Dixon, age 35 of Sharpsburg, passed away on Nov. 27, 2011. He was born in Dublin, Ga. on Jan. 20, 1976. He was a carpenter by trade and a member of 3rd Wheel Band. He loved his family and friends, music and soccer.

John Olin Young, 70, of Fayetteville, Ga. died November 21, 2011. He was a lifelong Bulldogs fan and well known for his sense of humor. Raised in Monroe, Ga. he is survived by his mother Susie O'Mary, wife Mary Helen (Mitchell) Young, children Jennifer Estrada, Josh and Nick Young.

Arthur Ward Carpenter, age 45, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away on Nov. 26, 2011.

He is survived by his wife, Lianne Carpenter; children, Wesley, Christian, Elizabeth Kate, and Madeline Hope Carpenter; parents, Ken & Lois Carpenter; sister, Karen Klinger; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at 5 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Healing Bridge at the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City in his memory to help benefit others.

Douglas Roscoe Gilmore, 69, of Fayetteville

Mr. Douglas Roscoe Gilmore, 69, of Fayetteville, formerly of Forest Park, passed away on Nov. 21, 2011.

Mr. Gilmore proudly worked for Eastern Air Lines for 25 years, and later drove trucks for Allied Transport and Consolidated Freight.

He was a kind-hearted man, who loved his cats and cars. Often characterized as one who never sat around, he loved being outdoors and was an avid train collector and photographer.

Robert Lloyd Howard, age 85, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away on Nov. 18, 2011.

Mr. Howard was born in Shiloh, Ga. on Aug. 25, 1926 to Stephen Edgar Howard and Mattie Ellen Burden Howard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Buvenia Parrott Howard of Fayetteville, Ga.; his devoted daughter Robin Howard Brooks and his precious granddaughter Victoria Katelyn Brooks of Fayetteville, Ga.

Robert worked in the food service industry and retired from the Georgia World Congress Center.
