Saturday Gospel Singings planned

The Grantville Baptist Church in Coweta County will host Saturday Night Gospel sings each Saturday (and one Friday) during the month of October.

Guests include: Oct. 9, New Gospel Lights; Oct. 16, New Life; Friday, Oct. 22, Wayne Chambly, The Christianaires, and Twin Creek; Saturday, Oct. 23, Homegrown and The Toomey Family; and Oct. 30, The Gospel Messengers.

McDonough Rd. Baptist will offer ‘Fireproof’ Oct. 10

“Fireproof” the movie, starring Kirk Cameron and Erin Bethea, will be presented at McDonough Road Baptist Church on Sunday, Oct. 10, at 5 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The 2008 release is about fire captain Caleb Holt and his valiant effort to save his struggling marriage. Living by the old firefighter’s adage Never Leave Your Partner Behind, Holt faces his greatest challenge ever on the home front, and that is rescuing and resuscitating his marriage. Elizabeth Haley engaged to Austin Jonathan

Mr. and Mrs. Allan Higgins of Georgetown, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Richardson of Taft, Tenn., formerly of Fayetteville, announce the upcoming marriage of their children Elizabeth Haley and Austin Jonathan.

The bride-to-be works for Keller Realty and will attend the University Of Alabama Birmingham.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Fayette County High School and Samford University. He is working in Birmingham as freelance photographer and graphic designer.

The wedding will be in Georgetown, Texas Nov. 13, 2010. The couple will live in Birmingham.

Yarbrough birth

Chris and Laura (Saheim) Yarbrough of Kennesaw announce the birth of their son, Benjamin James Yarbrough, at 8:04 p.m. on June 1, 2010 at Kennestone Hospital in Kennesaw. Benjamin weighed 6 lbs., 12 oz. and was 18.5 inches long. Grandparents are Larry and Renee Saheim of Peachtree City and Tim and Cathy Prater of Locust Grove.

Aline Goforth Cieutat, 83, of Gulfport, FL, died on Friday, October 1, 2010.

Aline was born in Maryville , TN on January 31, 1927. She married Hubert A. Cieutat in 1946. They had four children. Hubert died in February 1973.

Southern Crescent Alzheimers Memory Walk 2010 draws a special crowd

Memories live forever in the hearts of the mass of people who made their way to Peachtree Saturday morning for the 11th Annual Southern Crescent Alzheimers Memory Walk held outside the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater.
