In the third quarter of last year, Peachtree City residents hit a recycling milestone.

Both of the Kedron pools will be resurfaced in March at a cost expected to remain under $50,000.

The pool will need to be closed for three weeks to accomplish the project, according to Recreation and Special Events Administrator Cajen Rhodes.

The lowest bidder came in around $42,000 but the remainder of the $50,000 approved last week by council will be used as a contingency in case there are minor issues discovered during the process, Rhodes said. A proposal to rezone property on Wisdom Road near Ga. Highway 74 for a new 81-room Fairfield Inn hotel in Peachtree City has resurfaced.

In a preliminary vetting by the planning commission Monday night, it was noted that one of the most challenging issues for the 2.8 acre site is that it backs up to the rear of the Wisdom Point retail center, which offers a less than appetizing view but abuts the main entry drive and a courtyard area on the current schematic plan.
