Zombie brides like regular food too

Who says zombies can’t enjoy a regular meal? And that’s exactly what Fayetteville zombie wedding couple Kris Gilmore and Emily Holland did Oct. 13 at the Zombie Wedding Bash in Haralson, sponsored by The Funky Shack Art Studio and owners Dawn Hunt and Jennifer Yarbrough. The first-time event was held in celebration of the third season of “The Walking Dead” being filmed in Haralson and nearby Senoia. Waving for a Classic

2011 race participants wave from last year, anticipating the 32nd Annual Peachtree City Classic to be run this weekend. The Classic actually consists of three different races: a women’s 5K, a men’s 5K, and the 15K open. All races are run on separate TAC-certified courses, and start and finish at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater Saturday, Oct. 20, along the scenic golf cart paths of Peachtree City. The Great Pumpkin hunt

It’s pumpkin-hunting season once again in Peachtree City as the annual pumpkin sale is underway, thanks to the city’s fire department. Sisters Katie and Haley Williams (R) worked together to pick the perfect pumpkin from the patch last week. All proceeds from the sale are used to provide training and purchase equipment for firefighters. 'Our Town' opens at Starr's Mill tonight

The Starr's Mill High School Advanced Drama 2 class will present Thorton Wilder's “Our Town,” October 11, 12, 13. The play is an American classic that won the Pulitzer Prize.  It remains one of the top five plays produced among American high schools.

The play takes place at the turn of the twentieth century and centers around Emily Webb and George Gibbs.  The plot follows the citizens of the town and the blossoming romance between George and Emily.  The intent of the play is to remind the audience how precious life is and how life should not be taken for granted. Southern Ground Amphitheater’s summer concert series may be over but the venue will be rocking next Tuesday night with the Any1Can: We Want Peace benefit concert and art show. The concert will benefit “Raising South Sudan,” sponsored by Mothering Across Continents, a non-profit project that supports school building and education in the world’s newest country South Sudan. New TV show sounds casting call for bachelors

Are there any bachelors in the Fayette and Coweta areas looking for a little exposure? If so, a new television show by production company Endemol USA might be right up your alley. The company has announced a casting call for “the perfect eligible bachelor from the perfect small town.”

Starr’s Mill grad Fletcher and friend from Auburn competing on ‘The Amazing Race’

The latest season of CBS’ hit show “The Amazing Race” started Sunday night and Starr’s Mill graduate Brittany Fletcher is a contestant alongside her best friend and fellow Auburn University alum Caitlin King.

Fletcher stated that she has always wanted to be a part of this show.

“It was one of the things on my bucket list,” Fletcher said. “This and being on ‘The Price is Right.’” Fletcher was on “The Price is Right” in 2005 and won the Showcase Showdown. She’s hoping she has the same kind of luck this time around as the prize if she and King win “The Amazing Race” is $1,000,000. Read More»
