There was plenty to cheer about Friday at McIntosh. The Chiefs improved to 3-0, their best start in recent memory, and the school celebrated with a “Pink Out” to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Last week, fall sports teams were allowed to raise money and wear pink for the foundation whose mission is to save lives through early detection. Sandy Creek hosted East Coweta in their first home game of the season and, despite the score, most would agree it could have gone better.

Nearly two weeks after The Citizen’s first request — and after three subsequent requests — the Fayette County School System so far has not released the school affiliations of the 26 parents chosen to be a part of the new 42-member Redistricting Committee.

“The parents would rather not be identified by school since they see themselves as representing the entire district, not just their particular school,” Public Relations Officer Melinda Berry-Dreisbach wrote Sept. 5 in a reply to The Citizen’s second request. Read More»

The final score wasn’t very good (Starr’s Mill lost 42-3) but the Starr’s Mill cheerleaders kept up the school spirit throughout the game.
