Outdoor burning ban is lifted. That’s great. Just when the weather cools down and we can turn off the air conditioning and open the windows. Guess we will have to hold our breath until the ban goes back into effect. Why can’t you just be a good neighbor and bag it and take it to the recycling center?

Braelinn Kroger shopping center, here is my shopping list: 1. Southwestern decor does not match, purple roof on Kane Yama, other buildings are brick. 2. Ugly Red K-Mart sign. 3. No awning to protect you from the sun or 50 inches of rain we get annually in Fayette County. 4. Filthy restaurant with a low inspection rating. 5. Confusing parking lot with no shade trees just bushes. 6. Music not playing today, probably broken. 7. Ugly silver decorations on the planters. 8. Dirty restrooms in Kroger. 9. The bumpy faux brick. I want to take a moment to thank the Fayette County deputy who blasted through the RED light at Ga. Highway 92 and Rivers Road around 8:40 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 15) and did not take the time to use sirens to warn us of his approach as we crossed 92 during a GREEN light. I guess you thought the lights that you turned on as you reached the intersection before your left turn onto Rivers Road were enough of a warning. I am pretty sure the key is to turn the lights on BEFORE you get to the intersection with a RED light, but what do I know? I am just the private citizen who pays your salary. Read More»

Can anyone explain why Fayette County would change the PSAT testing date from a Wednesday, Oct. 13 when they offered it to all students during school to a three-day holiday weekend Saturday, Oct. 16? Many students are still unaware of this new testing plan and as students are out on Friday they are taking advantage of the three days off.

Why do politicians believe they deserve free stuff that the rest of us don’t get? If they’re really in politics to serve their constituents, why should they take gratuities from special interests that want to influence or buy their vote? I’m waiting for the Republican Party to say they won’t accept speaking fees, tickets, lunches, dinners, alcohol, fishing, hunting, or vacation trips (disguised as fact-finding missions), golf outings, or any other gift that might be considered an enticement. A dozen donuts for the office staff would be OK. Read More»

Who would of thunk it? Tina Fey leading the cheers at all those Tea Party tax protests. That chick is a dead-ringer for Sarah Palin.

To the person who commented on Fayette County and the “more diverse” community potentially having something to do with an increase in crime: I just have one question. Do you teach your children to be racist, too? How awful.
