The Senoia Optimist Club is ready for warmer weather and the outdoor fun it brings so the club is hosting its spring barbecue on Saturday, March 14.

The barbecue will be held at the Masonic Lodge in downtown Senoia. The lodge is located at 19 Main Street – between Hollberg’s Furniture and Senoia Coffee & Café. Serving is scheduled to start at 11a.m. and end at 2 p.m. or until the food sells out – whichever comes first.

Richard Thompson of Newnan will again prepare the food for the Senoia Optimists’ fundraiser.

Prices remain as follows: Gallon of Stew = $25; Quart of Stew = $8; Pound of BBQ pork = $9; and a Plate with beverage = $8. Pre-sale orders can be made with any member of the Senoia Optimist Club.

Those unable to attend should ask about possible deliveries by calling 770-833-9242 or 302-981-4794, or email 21267@optimistmail.org.

All proceeds from this fundraiser are used to support research for childhood cancer through the Aflac Cancer Center (administrative expenses are funded via other means).

Those interested in learning more about the Aflac Cancer Center and its cancer initiatives should visit www.aflaccancercenter.org.

The Optimist Club of Senoia is part of an international organization whose motto is “Friend of Youth.” Meeting the needs of young people in communities worldwide, Optimist Clubs have been “Bringing out the Best in Kids” since 1919.
