Mitt Romney Pay’s less than 1% in Federal Taxes
Under the Paul Ryan budget plan Mitt Romney would pay less than 1% in Federal Taxes. Sounds rather self serving to me but at least we know why Mitt has such affection for the Ryan plan.
How much are you going to pay if you work a job for a living? You better figure it out for yourself before you vote in November.
Once Mitt gets his taxes down below 1% he can fire all his accountants. Mitt loves to fire people that provide him services. I hope they live in Massachusetts’s, that way they won’t loose their health insurance and their job both.
I wonder how many ballet slippers Mitt could buy for his dressage horses with the money he saves. A boat load I bet, if he gets them from China.
Uh Oh. Folks have been losing credibility around here for less than that. At least you didn't misquote Darwin
SPQR, quoting Darwin, eh? For or against him? Hey, did you attend “Gay Day at Chick Fil-A” on August 1st?
these days? You must be at least a regional vice president by now. By the way which one are you in this picture? Heh, heh, heh!
http://www.thecitizen.com/articles/07-31-2012/%E2%80%98princess-tea-part...
I see your still trying to move senior citizens into poverty. Issuing vouchers instead of Medicare? What the heck are you thinking?
Before you know those Republican's will try and do away with Social Security too!
At least Ryan's plan doesn't steal $716 BILLION dollars from Medicare to pay for a boondoggle program.
SLindsey, actually Ryan’s plan does take the same $716 billion from waste and abuse found in Medicare.
The difference is Obama uses the savings, in the Affordable Care Act, to help pay seniors preventive care and prescription drugs. Under Obama’s plan seniors get more benefits not less.
The cold bold Republican Ryan plan, the savings are used to give more tax breaks to wealthy pinstriped banksters, international gambling tycoons, and Texas oil boilers. Seniors get fewer benefits.
And I haven't even broght up the vouchers! That's the second punch in the stomach the Republican's have planned for our seniors citizens's.
Romney’s right: Obamacare cuts Medicare by $716 billion. Here’s how.
"On July 24, the Congressional Budget Office sent a letter to House Speaker John Boehner, detailing the budget impact of repealing the Affordable Care Act. If Congress overturned the law, “spending for Medicare would increase by an estimated $716 billion over that 2013–2022 period.”
"The majority of the cuts, as you can see in this chart below, come from reductions in how much Medicare reimburses hospitals and private health insurance companies."
You see Gort when you reduce what the Hospitals and Doctors get paid then it follows logically a reduction and services are not far behind.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/wp/2012/08/14/romneys-rig...
"By contrast, Obamacare cut $716 billion from Medicare in order to fund $1.9 trillion in new health care spending, through the law’s expansion of Medicaid and its new subsidized exchanges."
Fact-Checking the Obama Campaign's Defense of its $716 Billion Cut to Medicare
http://www.forbes.com/sites/aroy/2012/08/16/fact-checking-the-obama-camp...
Face it Gort.. Obama is now once again forced to defend his cuts to Medicare to pay for Obamacare while Ryan clearly states.. If you are on it.. You stay on it..If you are about to be on it... You still get it.. If you are younger decades away from retirement... You get choices.
I thought you guys was all about choices? Oh that's only when you want to kill a baby...never mind.
SLindsey, you’re as incoherent as always. I just hope the voters are smart enough to see through your right wing bull crap.
Obama and the Democrats will preserve Medicare. Romney and the Republicans will end it. It’s as simple as that.
Just saying someone is incorrect does not make it so.
You and a few others here love to pronounce someone is wrong without every backing up that argument.
Why is the Washington Post and Forbes wrong? Are you saying that two fairly credible news agencies just got it wrong, that their analysis was flawed?
Do you have ANY proof other then media matters rhetoric or talking points?
SLindsey, Just because the WP or Forbes prints something, doesn’t mean its credible.
For instance, Avik Roy is an advisor to the Romney campaign, (according to the disclaimer,) and judging by the article, part of the Romney propaganda machine to kill Medicare.
That's exactly what Debbie Whats-her-name Schultz said without any facts to back them up. Birds of a feather, I guess.
... but expected no less.
Grizz, thanks for posting me a line. Debbie Whats-her-name Schultz, eh?
You’re not trying to restart the GOP War on Women again, are you? Well your in luck, some guy named Todd Akin's has got the ball rolling for you!
Gort is correct in that Ryan's budget includes the same $716 billion cuts to Medicaid.
Not that it matters in the least. Obama is not the one that's going to have any problem discussing Medicare. Ryan is the one who wants to kill Medicare and it is his positions that are going to be the focus of the discussion. This is a spectacularly stupid decision from the Romney people to let the campaign shift focus from the economy to Ryan's budget proposals, but he had to appease you TEA Party people. Y'all have never liked Mitt nor trusted him and you still don't; but now you're delighting in the selection of Ryan.
The fact is that the selection of Ryan is the ultimate expression of the weakness of the Romney campaign and the Republican Party. There is not one single voter that will vote Republican in November because Ryan is on the ticket that should not have voted Republican to begin with. You TEAs forced Romney to appease you instead of letting him use the VP position to reach out to another broader constituency like with a Condoleezza Rice. The TEA Party re-elected Obama, plain and simple, and you still don't see it. LOL.
The choice of Ryan virtually cedes the race. You just gave away Florida because of Ryan's stance killing Medicare.
Don't you just love being lectured by the bedwetting liberals whose own candidate picked a racist nincompoop for a running mate only to make himself try to look better than he actually is? It's especially amusing to be lectured by the son of a one-termer that was so bad that he brought the economy to it's knees and made us a laughing stock to the rest of the world.

this, Joe Biden as President.
Pretty frightening to most that this kind of man is one step away from being President, but after all it was Mr. Obama's selection. Just goes to illustrate that if anything Mr. Obama is consistent in his judgment.
Sarah Palin; Paul Ryan?
Palin as President is just as frightening, Ryan the jury is still out.
Biden ain't the problem, Obama is. When you start to think everything is cool and Victor Hill gets elected next county - God help us. Seems like the Kim dude arrested too many of the aaah, well, ummmm, miscreants and their parent (not parents) voted against him.
If it happens here, it can happen anywhere.
Biden gonna the next President and we can't stop it.
Canada looks good.
Another selection of an EXTREMIST by the RADICAL Obama. Van Jones is a self-proclaimed communist.
Van Jones: "I met all these young radical people of color – I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, ‘This is what I need to be a part of… I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary…I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th..By August, I was a communist.”
I have always been among those who believe that the greatest freedom of speech was the greatest safety, because if a man is a fool, the best thing to do is to encourage him to advertise the fact by speaking.
-- Woodrow Wilson
" Even after the war ended in November 1918, the Wilson administration's attempts to silence radical political opponents continued, culminating in the Palmer Raids, a mass arrest and roundup of some 10,000 anarchists and labor activists led by Wilson's Attorney General, A. Mitchell Palmer.[110] The investigations and prosecutions of antiwar activists by the Department of Justice were heavily criticized by prominent lawyers and law professors of the day, including Felix Frankfurter and Roscoe Pound."
No wonder you would be quoting that guy Jeff...
You said the same thing this time in 2010 as well. How did that work out?
It doesn't get any simplier...
If you are on it YOU STAY ON IT...
If you are 55 or older YOU GET IT....
If you are younger YOU GET THE SAME OPTIONS AS CONGRESS...
I guess if it's good enough for Congress well it should be good enough for the American people.
Like I told you in 2010 people are simply not as stupid as you guys think they are... Romney will win by 7 points.
You can emphasize your talking points in CAPS all you want but the even simpler truth is that you have no credibility and nobody believes that these Rs have good intentions for Social Security. Ryan has been trying to destroy it his whole career.
At the very least, Ryan makes Florida much harder and much more costly for the Romney campaign. And what was gained by picking Ryan? Romney could have reached out to Rice, Jindal or Rubio and broadened his Party but the TEAs had to be appeased instead.
He's pulling out of Pennsylvania now, conceding it to Obama. Show me any way Romney can win without Florida.
News flash Jeff: Penn has voted for the Democratic Presidential Candidate for the last 20yrs!
Correct about the solid blue states, pretty much union bastions. Florida isn't Pennsylvania, though the union is pretty strong there. In Florida it really depends on the independent voter and seniors. Union building in Florida has been going on many, many years with the help of the democratic political machine.
http://www.bls.gov/opub/ted/2012/ted_20120130.htm
The real question JeffC is whether or not people are fed up with the current policies. If so will they turn out at the polls? I know this seems obvious but the name of the game is getting special interest groups to turnout on both sides in large numbers.
The real unknown at this stage is the independent vote, that is the truly independent vote. This group will determine a lot of things in the next election, primarily with the make up of the Congress.
I think the Democrats will lose big in 2012, just like they did in 2010.
Here's my current take:
I think the Democrats will lose big in 2012, just like they did in 2010.
My personal opinion is that the Teas tipped their hand too early when they immediately threw off the sheep skins and let everyone see their agenda. The satisfaction with congress has gone even lower since 2010. Of course we are dealing with an electorate that saw fit to elect George W to a second term, a president even the Teas have distanced themselves from.
It does remain to be seen, it's just my opinion, we'll all see in November.
Jeff.. they are called facts.
Now I know how you progressives love those entitlement programs BUT what happens to those programs when they go broke?
Isn't more intelligent to fix them now before they do? Well probably not to you... you guys love to just keep kicking that can down the road.
Wouldn't be better Jeff to give Americans a CHOICE?
But then again doing that takes power away from you guys so I can see why you would be against that choice thingy.
I'm keeping track. We're running out of people with credibility.
Going after MediCARE or SS doesn't give me any warm fuzzies. Why do you never hear of going after MediCADE? or better yet the HUD housing?
I've been home helping my 90yr Mother with about 40 rental houses. What I saw blew me away. I thought the old 'welfare system' and having kids to stay on the payroll went out eons ago.
I've been helping manage these properties so I don't have mis information. I've stared into the faces of people who have been on section 8 housing for YEARS and have no plans to get a job. They have MediCADE and then there are programs out there that pay their utilities. Food is also covered.
The reason I'm so familiar with them is that I've thrown them out of at least 10 houses so far and have more to go.
I've never seen such a waste of space or money. These people are making no attempt to better themselves. One landlord told me he had one that had been on it 30 yrs (I don't know if the program has been around that long though. Since they don't work, they just sit around and make sawdust out of your rental property all day. My Mother being so old, they were taking total advantage.
The number of people on it is staggering. The rich seem to pay very little taxes, so supporting them as been on the back of the middle class for years. I've been throwing them out and putting working class people in that have sense enough to know if they punch holes in the ceiling, the rain comes in!
I feel these people should only be allowed to get this handout for a year or two, then HAVE to come off. What I've seen is clearly abuse of the system and the working class. Yet the politicans never come after these deadbeats. Only the little old ladies who have worked all their lives and are fairly drawing SS and Medicare. So sad.
How bout either candidate offering to CLOSE loopholes and welcome mats for the immigrants/green cards?
If someone immigrates and opens a gas station or buys a hotel, they get tax advantages that we don't. Yes, us who fought for this country. It makes it very hard for the REAL Americans to compete. Don't like that phrase 'Real Americans'? I don't care. That is what we are and both parties have ruined this country by giving unfair advantage to immigrants. I don't own a gas station nor a hotel. It is just something I've watch in disgust for a long time.
http://michellemalkin.com/2010/08/11/culture-of-entitlement-the-section-...
I think it isn't hitting at one party or the other harder to print this. The Republicans started it..the Dems keep it going today.
Like I said, neither party helps the middle class.
Yes, there is abuse - but know what you're talking about ,

Something really has to be done with it. There has to be a time limit for healthy people. I have a renter, Onnie, that has a grown retarded son that she keeps at home. She is old, works, and is tired, but would qualify. The waiting list is closed. Yet, I see people living on this that are able, young, and very often have a very able bodied male living with them. They are beating the system. I feel people like Onnie should go first, yet there are people on there who won't come off. They know they have a good thing and never intend to get a job and leave. The whole thing is very abused and needs to be cleaned up. Leave Medicare and SS alone and clean this up.
...actually more than their Fair share..
The rich seem to pay very little taxes, so supporting them as been on the back of the middle class for years. I've been throwing them out and putting working class people in that have sense enough to know if they punch holes in the ceiling, the rain comes in!
http://cbo.gov/publication/43373
"On just federal-level taxes, the top 1 percent of income earners already have an effective tax rate of 29 percent.
The top 1 percent pays well over its “fair share”—it pays a much larger share of taxes (22.3 percent) than the share of income it earns (13.3 percent)—as does the full top 20 percent. Meanwhile, the bottom income groups pay a much smaller share of taxes than their share of income: The bottom 40 percent earned 14.9 percent of income but paid just 4.1 percent of federal taxes."
Don't let the hyperbole and rhetoric sway you SF... btw- I would be very careful admitting you have been discriminating against a class of people even the "Evil" rich... discrimination is still discrimination no matter which group happens to be the whipping flavor of the day...Just saying.
But as a Business person.. you have been throwing "out" the Rich... REALLY?
It is ...not...discrimination to throw people out who tear your place up because they have nothing else to do.
I will say again, this is something that should be looked into because it is throwing tax dollars away. HUD, should be used to help house people while they are trying to get a job. There is no reason in this world half the people (middle income) should support the other half. I feel strongly it needs to be overhauled. There are real people on the waiting list in need, but can't use it because others have made a career out of it and are doing their best to stay on it forever. Entitlement programs, and lifers on them, are just plain wrong.
It is much easier to go after the old helpless people on SS and Medicare than HUD and Medicaide.
idea!
Let's repeal the 16th Amendment, then no one will pay income tax!
Then maybe we would have to downsize the government because the government would run out of the endless piggy bank called income tax.
We get to keep our money and spend it the way we want to and not get robbed by Mitt Romney or Mr. Obama or Congress. What a concept!
PTC_0, Give Mitt Romney and his wealthy pinstriped banksters, international gambling tycoons, and Texas oil boilers, another tax breaks?
Not me, I think I think income from capital gains should be taxed like ordinary income.
So you haven't any investments then? In your list of "evil doers" you failed to mention all those pension plans, widows, and other small investors that will be hit with increases in capital gains taxes.
I am sure you are an expert on capital formation....that's why you want to tax capital gains at ordinary income?
Gort is your typical Liberal Progressive that believes Government should control businesses and doesn't understand how the economy works, thus his remarks on CG.
Remember it was him that said we could spend forever with little to no consequences.
"Remember it was him that said we could spend forever with little to no consequences."
Gort may be a progressive but he's smarter than that. Right Gort!?
PTC_0, SLindsey has a nasty habit of telling people what they said even when they never said it. Any minute now he will break into his usual chorus of red-baiting.
Read this book, it is very short and easy to understand. The Law
The Law was originally published in French in 1850 by Frederic Bastiat. It was written two years after the third French Revolution of 1848 and a few months before his death of tuberculosis at age 49. It is the work for which Bastiat is most famous.
Let's then discuss it when you are finished, you should be able to get it for about $1.
PTC_0, I can tell you right now, Gort’s not going to read a book of economics written by some rich French guy over a hundred years ago. I’m pretty sure it was written to promote his self interest and the heck with everyone else.
Besides, we all had front row seat to witness the economic experts of our time, armed with the knowledge of all the economic experts that came before them, and they still drove the economy over the cliff this past decade.
He wasn't rich but he was sick and died at the age of 49 of TB. In fact, like most economists he died in poverty. ;-)
Out of all of the people posting to this board, I thought you would be open to read something that might, yes I said might, open your eyes to a different perspective. I guess I was wrong, it's your loss.
PTC_0, Got sick and died at 49 of TB, eh? See what happens when you can’t afford health insurance.
That’s going to happen to more and more people in the USA if Mitt Romney and the Republicans get elected and kill Medicare.
Gort - I'm sure you had the opportunity to read/discuss this book. Imagine, 1958 in a college class with young African Americans, children of Holocaust survivors, 3rd generation Mexican Americans, Japanese American students who spent part of their childhood in internment camps, American white students - some who proudly claimed Puritan heritage - and being a part of original families of Los Angeles - discussing the content of this book in the pre-Civil Rights movement era. Talk about reacting from different perspectives!! TRUTH IS IN THE EYE AND HEART OF THE BEHOLDER. You can get a synopsis on line. Today - the discussion would be just as stimulating.
Like the true socialist, that you are DM. What in the world do you see in this fine piece of intellectual thought that brings to mind the desperate number of class divisions you mention? Is your world so warped that you need mention them in everything you post?
And what, pray tell us, do you perceive as the lie in The Law, from your perspective?
Finally, DM are you so lazy in your curiosity that you must read a synopsis of a book that is only 60 pages long? A synopsis of a synopsis, really DM get with it, get your brain engaged in something besides your narrow view of the world.
You are soporific DM, pure and simple.
These fine fellow travelers can neither comprehend the simple basics of Bastiat nor can they view it for what it is.. A classless view of what happens when Government and it's people become both tyrant and dependent.
This quote is PERFECT for these fine folk... Socialism, like the old policy from which it emanates, confounds Government and society. And so, every time we object to a thing being done by Government, it concludes that we object to its being done at all. We disapprove of education by the State — then we are against education altogether. We object to a State religion — then we would have no religion at all. We object to an equality which is brought about by the State then we are against equality, etc., etc. They might as well accuse us of wishing men not to eat, because we object to the cultivation of corn by the State.
It is either Central Planning or Nihilism these are the only two choices they give us.. This and nothing more.
What in the world do you see in this fine piece of intellectual thought that brings to mind the desperate number of class divisions you mention?
And in what world do you exist in when a mention of the diversity of Americans automatically means DIVISIVE to you!! As one who was raised all of my life among those who were American - and due to their 'differences' were certainly not considered different in 'class' - I find your statement and perception most 'telling'. The Law has been discussed by students for YEARS. Do you really think that it was not discussed in relation to the world as they knew it during their lifetime? You are so limited!! IMO.
Those who have referred students to this book are from many different backgrounds: In our lifetime from Paul to Malcolm X . If you feel that everyone who reads this book will agree with your interpretation of the impact on our society today - you are indeed limited. It will have a different impact on generations to come. It produces stimulating discussion and thought. . .and can be twisted to meet any purpose. The ideas expressed have been expressed by humankind since the written word. Socrates,Moses, David, Jesus, Bhudda, The Daili Lama, etc., etc., etc. have expressed many similar thoughts.
from THE LAW:
And now that the legislators and do-gooders have so futilely
inflicted so many systems upon society, may they finally end
where they should have begun: May they reject all systems, and
try liberty; for liberty is an acknowledgment of faith in God and
His works.
Mother Teresa and many others have tried this. In the opinion of many, humankind is not ready to take this step yet. Sad. What I gather from your words and limited experience is that you believe we can. That's your opinion. I don't think a majority of humankind agree with you today. By the way - don't label me as a socialist (Cuban style?) or a Marxist - I am an American women whose skin is not white and I vote for the person - and this year it will be Obama, the Democrat. Nothing changes by doing the same thing over again. As much as some want to deny this - the policies proposed by Ryan will not get us out this mess; Romney will probably change his policies as soon as he is elected (for the good of the country) - and the global economy will take us right along with it. I'm sticking with the guy who turned this thing around; won respect from the world; and cares about ALL AMERICANS! Just sharing my opinion.
Dull
Great response when you've been outed as a pseudo intellectual bigot. LOL!
That you are mired neck deep in your own distorted view of America and cannot be reasoned with.
It was clear you tried to turn Bastiat into some kind of racial slur and then when called on it you deny you did it..
This is just sop for you... part of that kumbayah thing I always say you do when cornered.
You're really, really dull, really.
"the guy who turned this thing around; won respect from the world..."
> The National Debt has now increased more during President Obama's three years and two months in office than it did during 8 years of the George W. Bush presidency. That’s persistent depression level unemployment. (Forbes.com, March 2012)

Oh, wait, 'He' killed Osama Bin Laden.
Yeah, he was killed---AFTER 3 delays influenced by Valerie Jarrett--the person who was really pulling the strings and pushing the buttons in the White House! I sdon't see how anyone with one eye and half-sense could vote for this guy again if you read "The Amateur" by Edward Klein. Therein you'll find quotes from those who know him best--and it ain't pretty!
sharing of talking points. It will be a close race!
...just real quick, can you list his successes (I assume that'll be Obamacare for one, now that the SCOTUS has shackled us w/ it, and the circumvention of the Constitution letting young illegals stay)?
I think more people will see the HBO special Newsroom than will read The Amateur. You have made this anti - Obama thing too big and forgot about the single digit approval of Congress since the Tea Party arrived. We'll see the ratings of tonights opening of the Republican convention. The American people are looking for the 'other' Republicans to show up. They've had enough of Sununu, Limbaugh, and that hateful rhetoric. I understand that an outstanding women will 'represent' who may be the first Republican black women elected to Congress. I wish her well. Herman Cain and Condoleeza Rice will speak - but they can't overshadow the 'birthers' and the Un-American remarks. The debates will bring out the difference? between Obama care and it's predecessor Romney care. AHG , you guys need to get your stories straight about Valerie Jarrett. Now what is it? Running the show for the Bin Laden thing or being dismissed from the inner circle of the White House according to Morgan? Obama's successes? You'll hear about ALL of them during the debates-with FACTS to back them up! Almost time to hear how Romney will singlehandedly save America. America is waiting with baited breath. (And Obama is waiting with the truth to refute Mr. Romney. . . That's next week. Always great to have the last word.
Those who are experiencing Isaac, may you remain safe and secure.
Read "Leading From Behind."
...but you didn't answer my question in any way, shape, or form. He had a majority Congress for 2 years and didn't even pass a - Constitutionally required - budget. Once America realized his attempt to subject the Nation to greater National authority and they resoundingly rejected it, he was lost at what to do. You can scream 'those d**n Republicans, etc...' all you want but it was HIS POLICIES AND DIRECTION that were halted - too many Americans didn't/don't want them.
We understand how your upbringing in the segregated South, then a career in uber-Liberal S. Cal have colored your outlook, and that's fine, but it's not the whole of our Nation. Btw, how's Cal doing with all those handouts, cheap college, large public pensions, etc...? Not so good, I think...
We understand how your upbringing in the segregated South, then a career in uber-Liberal S. Cal have colored your outlook, and that's fine, but it's not the whole of our Nation
Interesting insight. What is the 'whole of our nation'? ( from your point of view). I was born and raised in Los Angeles. Traveled to the south to visit relatives. . . . and was grateful for my diverse upbringing. Color of skin had very little to do with 'class' in liberal California. My friends from kindergarten through college represented all the ethnicities that make up this great country. Only in the south was my freedom diminished because of the color of my skin. Ignorant practices were also evident in California. (restrictive covenants), but I could eat in restaurants, vote, and didn't have to deal with the ever presence of the KKK. I thoroughly enjoy my friends and family who represent different ethnicities and are proud Americans who have been serving this country since the late 1700's. I have difficulty understanding the fear/resentment of the diversity that this country is revered for around the world. I'm most interested in your reply.
...but still no answer to my original query: what has he done?
and the debates.

There are differences - and the American people - ALL AMERICANS - will decide in November who they trust to go forward. There will be a peaceful advance to the next four years - that is if the radicals who are preparing for Civil War are placed under control by the majority of our citizens.
Who is working on that "Civil War" you spoke of and how do YOU want to "control" them?
Here is another viewpoint
http://townhall.com/news/politics-elections/2012/08/24/the_starkest_diff...
Thanks for posting another view of 'the issues'.
Who is working on that "Civil War" you spoke of and how do YOU want to "control" them?
Well, there's that intelligent person who got some coverage in the media who is arming 'his' people for the Civil War that is going to happen after Obama's re-election. There are those radicals (black and white) who are arming for civil warfare - fortunately the media is not highlighting their ignorance - but law enforcement is aware of their rhetoric and activities in the respective areas. (They are officially designated as 'domestic terrorists'.) Fortunately we have a government agency that keeps abreast of such activities - and works 24/7 to protect us against such activity - so that we don't have to (YOU) do anything but stay alert and intelligent.
Obama has repeatedly over the past several months used his executive authority to reward certain key constituencies, a process sometimes referred to as “vote buying...”
1. $12 million in transportation funding for Ohio
2. $170 million in federal aid to Iowa farmers
3. $70 million in military aid to Israel
4. Work permits for young illegal immigrants
5. Prophylactics for Liberal Tramps (Key Democratic strategist Sandra Fluke said the new rule would save her more than $1,000 per year.)
This is the Obama plan. More handouts to cronies, high unemployment, more foodstamps from the Chicago foodstamp 'president', more people signing up for disability, more nuclear buildup in Iran without action.
Obama is the worst 'president' since that buffoon Jimmy Carter.
.
Still no specifics. I'm sure we'll get more info during the debates.
I think the 'sugar daddy' has been outed. (Herman Cain). The Republicans made sure we got that info
. Prophylactics for Liberal Tramps (Key Democratic strategist Sandra Fluke said the new rule would save her more than $1,000 per year

‘…and Mitt Romney’s Vietnam war record.
...what's your Vietnam war record?
Kchief, I was in the Air Force and served at Udorn Thailand with the 432nd. Our Officers were all intelligent, the NCO’s good looking, and all the Airman were above average!
How about you?
...8-11 years old (DOB 1961; we left Saigon in '71, right?), but did pick up the sword '87-2010; glad the Army could set you guys up w/ an outstanding organization!
Btw, thank you for your service, brother.

Kchief, when I was in, the old timers told us the first thing they did, after the Air Force became an independent service, was burn those brown boots the Army issued them and wipe that dogface scowl off their face.

Just kidding, my son was in the Army some of the same years you were.
What did you think of the Cajun music?

The best parties in the world have Cajun and/or Zydeco musicians!! My thoughts go out to those in Louisiana who are having such challenges with Isaac.
Dmom, it sure makes me smile and tap my foot, that’s for sure. Too bad I can’t dance! 8 - )
I hope the folks in Louisiana will be okay too. At least they won’t have to worry about, ‘Brownie you're doing a heckuva job," if you know what I mean.
The best thing about Cajun/Zydeco parties is that you don't have to really know how to dance - just move and have a good time!! (Nobody's looking!!! ) :-) [Yeah - I know what you mean - hopefully we won't have the deaths that Katrina brought]
SLindsey, in what year would Mitt Romney balance the budget? Answer: Never!
...with supporters like you screaming and stamping their feet every time a actual cut is proposed then spending will never be curtailed and the budget balanced.
Don't worry though.. When Greece and Spain implode we will be close behind so... those programs will be cut the hard way.. could have maybe fixed them if you guys would stop the pandering and scaremongering but now it's probably just too late.
But remember you did say YES when Mark asked you could we keep spending in perpetuity with no consequences. SO someone is going to be right aren't they?
SLindsey, I remember reading something about Greece not too long ago. They don’t make their rich people pay any taxes and the government is in full fiscal austerity mode to please German bankers.
Damn if that don’t sound like the Romney/Ryan ‘Roadmap to Prosperity?”
Well maybe not the German banker part, but wealthy pinstriped wall street banksters, international gambling tycoons, and Texas oil boilers for sure!
...what is it with you and 'pinstripes'? Is that an expression of wealth to you? Just wondering. I even owned a pinstriped suit at one time; I think is was a sign of wealth in the cartoons of the '20s and '30s - don't think so now. But anyway, as said, just wondering, because you've referenced it about 3 times in just this thread.
Kchief, I labored for days before I made the decision to use the phrase “pinstriped banksters.”
It won out over my other two choices:
“Blouse wearing, poodle walking, banksters,” and “Wing tipped, flying devil monkey, banksters.”
The phrase for some reason just reminds me of the Monopoly guy w/ the top hat for some reason, or old political cartoons of the Tweed gang! Viva la revolution!
Kchief, the bankers wore top hats. Tweed wore a bowler when he collected the kickbacks and a top had when he delivered the bankers share of the spoils.
Tweed died in prison for all his troubles. That's what happens when you become a shill for pinstriped banksters, international gambling tycoons, or even Texas oil boilers!

Could you possibly use someone else instead of Media Matters please.
