Under the Paul Ryan budget plan Mitt Romney would pay less than 1% in Federal Taxes. Sounds rather self serving to me but at least we know why Mitt has such affection for the Ryan plan.
How much are you going to pay if you work a job for a living? You better figure it out for yourself before you vote in November.
Once Mitt gets his taxes down below 1% he can fire all his accountants. Mitt loves to fire people that provide him services. I hope they live in Massachusetts’s, that way they won’t loose their health insurance and their job both.
I wonder how many ballet slippers Mitt could buy for his dressage horses with the money he saves. A boat load I bet, if he gets them from China.

The difference is Obama uses the savings, in the Affordable Care Act, to help pay seniors preventive care and prescription drugs. Under Obama’s plan seniors get more benefits not less.
The cold bold Republican Ryan plan, the savings are used to give more tax breaks to wealthy pinstriped banksters, international gambling tycoons, and Texas oil boilers. Seniors get fewer benefits.
And I haven't even broght up the vouchers! That's the second punch in the stomach the Republican's have planned for our seniors citizens's.

Not that it matters in the least. Obama is not the one that's going to have any problem discussing Medicare. Ryan is the one who wants to kill Medicare and it is his positions that are going to be the focus of the discussion. This is a spectacularly stupid decision from the Romney people to let the campaign shift focus from the economy to Ryan's budget proposals, but he had to appease you TEA Party people. Y'all have never liked Mitt nor trusted him and you still don't; but now you're delighting in the selection of Ryan.
The fact is that the selection of Ryan is the ultimate expression of the weakness of the Romney campaign and the Republican Party. There is not one single voter that will vote Republican in November because Ryan is on the ticket that should not have voted Republican to begin with. You TEAs forced Romney to appease you instead of letting him use the VP position to reach out to another broader constituency like with a Condoleezza Rice. The TEA Party re-elected Obama, plain and simple, and you still don't see it. LOL.

You can emphasize your talking points in CAPS all you want but the even simpler truth is that you have no credibility and nobody believes that these Rs have good intentions for Social Security. Ryan has been trying to destroy it his whole career.
At the very least, Ryan makes Florida much harder and much more costly for the Romney campaign. And what was gained by picking Ryan? Romney could have reached out to Rice, Jindal or Rubio and broadened his Party but the TEAs had to be appeased instead.
He's pulling out of Pennsylvania now, conceding it to Obama. Show me any way Romney can win without Florida.

Correct about the solid blue states, pretty much union bastions. Florida isn't Pennsylvania, though the union is pretty strong there. In Florida it really depends on the independent voter and seniors. Union building in Florida has been going on many, many years with the help of the democratic political machine.

The real question JeffC is whether or not people are fed up with the current policies. If so will they turn out at the polls? I know this seems obvious but the name of the game is getting special interest groups to turnout on both sides in large numbers.
The real unknown at this stage is the independent vote, that is the truly independent vote. This group will determine a lot of things in the next election, primarily with the make up of the Congress.
I think the Democrats will lose big in 2012, just like they did in 2010.

Going after MediCARE or SS doesn't give me any warm fuzzies. Why do you never hear of going after MediCADE? or better yet the HUD housing?
I've been home helping my 90yr Mother with about 40 rental houses. What I saw blew me away. I thought the old 'welfare system' and having kids to stay on the payroll went out eons ago.
I've been helping manage these properties so I don't have mis information. I've stared into the faces of people who have been on section 8 housing for YEARS and have no plans to get a job. They have MediCADE and then there are programs out there that pay their utilities. Food is also covered.
The reason I'm so familiar with them is that I've thrown them out of at least 10 houses so far and have more to go.
I've never seen such a waste of space or money. These people are making no attempt to better themselves. One landlord told me he had one that had been on it 30 yrs (I don't know if the program has been around that long though. Since they don't work, they just sit around and make sawdust out of your rental property all day. My Mother being so old, they were taking total advantage.
The number of people on it is staggering. The rich seem to pay very little taxes, so supporting them as been on the back of the middle class for years. I've been throwing them out and putting working class people in that have sense enough to know if they punch holes in the ceiling, the rain comes in!
I feel these people should only be allowed to get this handout for a year or two, then HAVE to come off. What I've seen is clearly abuse of the system and the working class. Yet the politicans never come after these deadbeats. Only the little old ladies who have worked all their lives and are fairly drawing SS and Medicare. So sad.

If someone immigrates and opens a gas station or buys a hotel, they get tax advantages that we don't. Yes, us who fought for this country. It makes it very hard for the REAL Americans to compete. Something really has to be done with it. There has to be a time limit for healthy people. I have a renter, Onnie, that has a grown retarded son that she keeps at home. She is old, works, and is tired, but would qualify. The waiting list is closed. Yet, I see people living on this that are able, young, and very often have a very able bodied male living with them. They are beating the system. I feel people like Onnie should go first, yet there are people on there who won't come off. They know they have a good thing and never intend to get a job and leave. The whole thing is very abused and needs to be cleaned up. Leave Medicare and SS alone and clean this up.

I will say again, this is something that should be looked into because it is throwing tax dollars away. HUD, should be used to help house people while they are trying to get a job. There is no reason in this world half the people (middle income) should support the other half. I feel strongly it needs to be overhauled. There are real people on the waiting list in need, but can't use it because others have made a career out of it and are doing their best to stay on it forever. Entitlement programs, and lifers on them, are just plain wrong.
It is much easier to go after the old helpless people on SS and Medicare than HUD and Medicaide.

I think more people will see the HBO special Newsroom than will read The Amateur. You have made this anti - Obama thing too big and forgot about the single digit approval of Congress since the Tea Party arrived. We'll see the ratings of tonights opening of the Republican convention. The American people are looking for the 'other' Republicans to show up. They've had enough of Sununu, Limbaugh, and that hateful rhetoric. I understand that an outstanding women will 'represent' who may be the first Republican black women elected to Congress. I wish her well. Herman Cain and Condoleeza Rice will speak - but they can't overshadow the 'birthers' and the Un-American remarks. The debates will bring out the difference? between Obama care and it's predecessor Romney care. AHG , you guys need to get your stories straight about Valerie Jarrett. Now what is it? Running the show for the Bin Laden thing or being dismissed from the inner circle of the White House according to Morgan? Obama's successes? You'll hear about ALL of them during the debates-with FACTS to back them up! Almost time to hear how Romney will singlehandedly save America. America is waiting with baited breath. ...but you didn't answer my question in any way, shape, or form. He had a majority Congress for 2 years and didn't even pass a - Constitutionally required - budget. Once America realized his attempt to subject the Nation to greater National authority and they resoundingly rejected it, he was lost at what to do. You can scream 'those d**n Republicans, etc...' all you want but it was HIS POLICIES AND DIRECTION that were halted - too many Americans didn't/don't want them.
We understand how your upbringing in the segregated South, then a career in uber-Liberal S. Cal have colored your outlook, and that's fine, but it's not the whole of our Nation. Btw, how's Cal doing with all those handouts, cheap college, large public pensions, etc...? Not so good, I think...

Interesting insight. What is the 'whole of our nation'? ( from your point of view). I was born and raised in Los Angeles. Traveled to the south to visit relatives. . . . and was grateful for my diverse upbringing. Color of skin had very little to do with 'class' in liberal California. My friends from kindergarten through college represented all the ethnicities that make up this great country. Only in the south was my freedom diminished because of the color of my skin. Ignorant practices were also evident in California. (restrictive covenants), but I could eat in restaurants, vote, and didn't have to deal with the ever presence of the KKK. I thoroughly enjoy my friends and family who represent different ethnicities and are proud Americans who have been serving this country since the late 1700's. I have difficulty understanding the fear/resentment of the diversity that this country is revered for around the world. I'm most interested in your reply.

Well, there's that intelligent person who got some coverage in the media who is arming 'his' people for the Civil War that is going to happen after Obama's re-election. There are those radicals (black and white) who are arming for civil warfare - fortunately the media is not highlighting their ignorance - but law enforcement is aware of their rhetoric and activities in the respective areas. (They are officially designated as 'domestic terrorists'.) Fortunately we have a government agency that keeps abreast of such activities - and works 24/7 to protect us against such activity - so that we don't have to (YOU) do anything but stay alert and intelligent.

...with supporters like you screaming and stamping their feet every time a actual cut is proposed then spending will never be curtailed and the budget balanced.
Don't worry though.. When Greece and Spain implode we will be close behind so... those programs will be cut the hard way.. could have maybe fixed them if you guys would stop the pandering and scaremongering but now it's probably just too late.
But remember you did say YES when Mark asked you could we keep spending in perpetuity with no consequences. SO someone is going to be right aren't they?
