Arrests near in arsonMon, 07/23/2007 - 9:46am
By: Ben Nelms
Arrests are pending in a July 14 incident that virtually destroyed and home at 304 West Broad Street in Fairburn and took the life of the family’s dog. No one was home during the early morning hours when a car full of males aged 15-21 drove by the home and threw lit fireworks onto the porch, said Fire Chief Jody Weller. The 304 West Broad address was one of several homes where lit fireworks were thrown earlier, Weller said. The fire did severe damage to the home, which will likely be a total loss. And though the residents were not at home, the fire killed the family’s dog inside the house. Pending charges include second-degree arson, cruelty to animals and criminal damage to property, Weller said. login or register to post comments
