Newnan School of Gymnastics competed in the “Sparkle City Invitational” in Spartanburg, SC on Feb. 5.

The USA Level 7 team from Newnan included Jessica Weatherford from Peachtree City, Mary-Michael McCathren from Peachtree City, Hailey Davis from Tyrone, and Sasha Sorokina from Newnan.

In the 9-10 age group, Weatherford took first place on Beam, Floor, and Vault. She and Davis tied on the Bars for second place, and Davis took second on Beam and Vault. Weatherford also took first place in the All Around award and Davis placed second.

In the 10-11 age group McCathren took second on Beam and Floor, while Sorokina took first on Floor and Vault.McCathren also took second place All Around while Sorokina placed third.

The level 7 team as a whole took second place.
