Git Real: Finally.... A Candidate That Both Jeff C And Richard Hobbs Can Agree OnSpear Road Guy: What Do You Think About This Nicole File Woman?I read the piece on her (http://www.thecitizen.com/~citizen0/node/31409) and was amazed. There is finally someone saying the school board shouldn't be allowed to have blank checks. luckydog: Through the GOP looking glassI watched some GOP convention last night on c-span to avoid the talking heads. Worked great, except that at times I thought I was at a John Wayne film festival -- one war movie after another. It is our national narrative, it seems.... Bonkers: RNC raising money for GustavusNight before last I heard Laura and Cindy saying they had changed hats and were simply going to raise money for those in need in NOLA, and forget politics! It’s a catchy tune, quite funny and better than any of the numbers in the “Hairspray” movie. Many families experienced devastating losses including the warm clothing that is necessary for the bitter Iowa winters. Carol Anderson, a knitware designer in St. Ansgar, Iowa, has been working since the floods began to collect clothing and blankets to donate to the victims. When she put out a call to her fellow knitters and crocheters worldwide to help these people, Janet Kent, knitting instructor at Fayette Senior Services, and Nancy Crow, the crochet instructor, responded. And so did their fellow knitters and crocheters at the center. Nitpickers: VETTINGI looked up this dumb word since I have sen it so many times recently and wasn't exactly sure where it came from. I am a personal friend of this more than 20 year experienced police officer that you seem to think needs more training. I have heard the facts from one of the two people that was at the scene during this episode. Any experienced police officer knows that you do not shoot a fleeing perp that has thrown away his weapon. When the 16 year old male pointed and clicked, he was not stopped as the paper quoted. He was still running with his back to this policeman and once his gun misfired, he immediately threw it over a wall. So now this officer, had he been trigger happy like you and so many others seem to think he should, would be facing charges of shooting a fleeing, unarmed 16 year old male in the back. So please, keep your comments to yourself about things that you do not have all the facts on.
