Mcintosh vs. Starrs MillWe will be moving to Peachtree City sometime in the upcoming year. Have already visited the city once and loved it. However, we are trying to decide which school district we should live in since our son will be starting High School in the fall of 2010. Walter C. WronskiWalter C. Wronski, Fayetteville, died June 26, 2009. Services were at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Father John Paul officiating. Janie DavisJanie Davis, 45, Peachtree City, died June 26, 2009. She was born Jan. 3, 1964 in Buffalo, N.Y. to Marilyn and Robert Heberlein. At age 13 she moved to Peachtree City where she spent the rest of her life. She attended Fayette County High School and became a cosmetologist. She was a gifted and caring hair stylist and truly loved her work. She married Bob Davis in 1985 and although later divorced the couple remained very close friends. Steven Matthew BordersSteven Matthew "Matt" Borders, 32, Fayetteville, died June 27, 2009 from a tragic ATV accident. He loved motorcycles, racing and fishing. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Brian Farrington officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Nola Mae Chaffin RaymondNola Mae Chaffin Raymond, Peachtree City, died June 23, 2009. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ronola Lee Raymond. She was a member of the Peachtree City Christian Church. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel. Survivors include her husband, Ron Raymond, Peachtree City; children, Rhonda and Jeff Endraske, Cartersville, Sonny and Robin Raymond, St. Mary's, Russ Raymond, Orlando, and Rick and Denise Raymond, Marietta; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and four great-granddaughters. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge. Katherine Brown LewisKatherine Brown Lewis, Fayetteville, died June 22, 2009. She was born Aug. 22, 1923 in Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her parents, E. D. and Geneva Sanges Brown, and her husband of 56 years, J.P. Lewis Jr. She worked at Rich's until her first child was born. She was involved with several organizations and always involved with her children's activities. She made great potato salad and apple cakes. She was a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Robert Gwin GardRobert Gwin Gard, 85, Tyrone, died June 20, 2009. He was born July 31, 1923 in Escambia County, Fla., to the late Roscoe Irving and Mae Gwin Gard. He was veteran of the United States Army in World War II and was featured in the book, "Stalag Wisconsin," published in 2002. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He was retired in 1988 from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 676 with over 40 years of service. Christopher Randall FloydChristopher "Chris" Randall Floyd, 20, Peachtree City, died June 21, 2009. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Conerlious and Margaret H. McIver, Thomasville,. He was born Sept. 3, 1988 in Fulton County. He was a student and worked as an administrative assistant in his dad's law firm. He loved singing, acting, and brightening the faces of the people around him. Services were at the Dogwood Church, Tyrone with Pastor Keith Moore officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Walton lemonade standMakira Walton, 9 , of Peachtree City hosted her first Alex's Lemonade Stand on Saturday, June 13. Cinderella Chronicles Theatre Camp Takes New Look at Classic StoryOffshoot Productions, in conjunction with the Tyrone Recreation Department, will offer The Cinderella Chronicles drama camp for ages 7 to 15. The partially scripted, partially improvised play, which depicts the discovery of Cinderella’s diary by two modern-day children, is the culmination of a week of drama instruction at the Roger Spencer Community Center, beginning July 20 and ending July 24. Named for the Greek goddess of the Arts and Wisdom, the Athena band camp is designed to serve 7th – 12th grade girls who play woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments.
