More questions about building Lake McIntosh

Thank you for writing the informative article on Lake McIntosh. There are many questions that we still have about the development.

What time line are we looking at as far as when the construction will start? How long will it take to obtain the necessary state and federal permits? Will this take weeks, months or years?

Thank you for keeping us updated! We look forward to reading all of the new information as it is available.

[Reporter John Munford replies: I spoke to Tommy Craig, the consulting attorney for the project. There is no deadline for the Army Corps of Engineers to make a decision on the permit, he explained. So in short, there's no telling how long it could take; Craig said he didn't even want to hazard a guess.

Currently, the process is in the public comment period and concerns about the project are being logged from state and federal agencies as well as special interest groups and the public.

Once the federal and state agencies provide the necessary permits, the design of the dam must be approved before the project is bid out.]
