Once, baseball was a game I just want to say I agree wholeheartedly with your article about the Braves and all of so-called organized baseball. Enough said. I am 86 years old and grew up in East Atlanta. We played baseball from the time I was 10 years old until I was 20 or so in our company ball club which played other ball clubs on Sunday afternoons. No pay. We furnished our own equipment. As a child we played in cow pastures as a rule. There were no manicured Little League fields. We played with baseballs wrapped in electrical tape and bats also wrapped in tape. I cannot realize that fellow with the Rangers will get a quarter of a billion dollars to do what I did for pure fun.
